I just checked out dates and right now it would be $89 each way. Last week it was $109 I believe. I'm wondering if I should wait and hold out for a better deal though since it is 6 months away?? Any thoughts? THANKS!:)

If you feel comfortable with that price, I would jump on it. You didn't say where you were flying out of, so it doesn't give much perspective - but in my opinion, anytime you can fly for under $100.00 one way is pretty good.

Watch what time of day you check prices. It seems like Tuesday through Thursday, the prices go down - they creep back up Thursday through Monday.

Also watch the time of day - I booked my flight at 6:00 am when I got to work; by the time I got hold of my two traveling companions and they got on at lunchtime, the price was up $20.00. Still reasonable, but I got the best deal.

Do you think prices ever drop back down? Over the weekend prices for our June flight $59.00 each way, I was waiting until tomorrow to book. I checked this morning and the return flight is now $109 :sad2:

Keep checking; for me last April - booking for the week after Thanksgiving - it did go down to $59.00 one more time and then it never did - the seats were filling up fast.

If you see $59.00 again in the next couple of weeks, jump on it. Check very early in the morning - Tuesday through Thursday.......and when you see seats start to go -get on it!

Good luck!

I booked our flight in January on Airtran ($74 oneway). I haven't seen the prices drop since then. If nothing else you can use the credit toward luggage if it does drop.:3dglasses

I don't think it's too early for August - as long as the price is right. I have booked my Sepetember Labor Day weekend on Air Tran out of Akron and got $78 each way. A very good deal - even with seat fees and luggage fees. :)

what are the seat fees and luggage fees?? So, are you saying if the price drops after I book it they will give me a credit? Seems I should just go ahead and book it I guess??...

Air Tran charges a seat fee for confirmed seat assignments. The cost varies from $6 up to $15 (I think). I have only booked $6 seats.:)

Almost all airlines charge a per checked bag fee. I think Continental is around $20 or $25. I think Air Tran is $15.

Does anyone know when they will start booking flights for November? Or does it say somewhere on their website? I can't seem to find it there.:confused3

You can avoid the $6 fee and pick your own seats if you go to Kayak.com and use airtran.com to book.

Sadly, they closed this loophole a few weeks ago.

I booked my August airfare with AirTran about two weeks ago when my dates dropped to $79 each way. With a family of five you just can't beat that! I might have gotten lower by waiting a couple of months but I was very comfortable with those flights and the price.

I agree, when you see a fare that is reasonable, book it :thumbsup2

We just booked our flights for September from Chicago Midway on Airtran for $74 pp one way for our family of four and I think that's a pretty good deal :goodvibes

We decided not to take any chances hoping for a lower fare when we felt we got a good price and it can always go up!:goodvibes

AirTran generally publishes their flight schedule about six months out, so my guess is November flights will be available for purchase around April/May. Keep checking though.

whenever you see a price on airfare that you are happy with..book it:thumbsup2

Prices can change minute to minute since its capacity controlled...

I just booked Airtran today for September. BWI to MCO for $67. I know last year I got them for $59. I figure it won't go much lower & some of the seats are already taken for the flights I picked.

I have booked my flights annually for the week after Thanksgiving and traditionally they have come out late April for me.
