I made my reservation for August 29th-Sept 4th at RPR several months ago. I wanted to pay the room off, but all they'd let me pay was a one night deposit. They sent me an email confirming the reservation, but nothing was mentioned about the deposit I made. I leave for Orlando Sunday and have received nothing else. Should I have? I'm used to receiving the big packet from WDW a few weeks before we leave. :confused3

Nop you won't get anything through the post, just your confirmation e-mail!

Just wanted to point out though, that if you call up and ask to pay off your room they'll send you a form you need to fill out and fax back to them! Bit of a nuisance (when most other places would just let you pay over the phone) but we did this for our week stay at RPR in May and just pre-paid it all in advance :thumbsup2

I was able to prepay with a credit card over the phone, but I did book through Universal Vacations instead of Loews, so that may have something to do with it (I'm assuming since you didn't say who you booked through).

In fact, the information I received in my email even went so far as to say that I had to pay it off a month before our trip or the trip would be cancelled and the deposit would be refunded.

You purchased a package, correct? Purchasing a package through Universal Vacations is indeed treated differently than just purchasing a room through Loews.

I made all of my payments directly to Loews accounting dept.

When I called they just said to put your res# and hotel and the dates on the check. I book online and they did take 1 nights deposit on the c.c.
I paid the rest by personal check, monthly.

Hmm, nice to know for future reference. Thanks! Too late now though. I leave in two days.:cool1: I was just a little concerned because I hadn't received anything from them. I was expecting a packet or at least a letter or new email.:confused3

I think with the Universal Hotels it is just like booking at any hotel - you make your ressie, get a confirmation and then pay on check out. It is nice to know that you can pre-pay even with monthly payments. :thumbsup2

We arrive on the 29th as well. I haven't received anything else either. Sometimes you will get another email, but not always. If you are a youfirst member, you can check your reservation online if you are concerned.

Yeah, that's correct, but I also put in that I didn't see where they had specified or made it clear how they had booked. I do realize that direct bookings through hotels themselves are treated differently.
