Should I be concerned with CP cancellation policy?

Just called Disney Dining, and they assured me no cancellation fee for Crystal Palace. I did not give a cc# when I booked, but I'm on the DP, which is attached to my reservation (and has cc#). Knowing how CMs can sometimes be less informed than the DIS, figured I'd ask here. We have CP booked for arrival day, but my flight is empty. If my flight is cancelled/delayed, we may not make it there for ADR. Should I be concerned at all that if there is a new policy AND my flight is bumped, I'll get charged a no show fee? :scared1: BTW- I know you all probably think I'm being neurotic, but they might as well have written Murphy's law for me!

Technically what Disney calls Advance Dining Reservations are really, for the most part, Priority Seatings.

The only meals they actually hold you to ar the dinner shows and CRT Breakfast.

All that your "reservation" at CP will do is allow you to be seated before people who don't have reservations, somewhere around the time you are scheduled for. If you don't show up someone will get the tabvle, and if you show up very (more than 15 minutes) late you may just be lumped with the walk-ins.

Now if you were going to the Luau or HDDR then you would have an actual charge to the card.

No worries. Just Cindy's Royal Table and the dinner shows have cancel policies.

Those are the only meals that are paid in full at the time of booking (I suppose unless you are using the dining plan and inform the CM of that when you call). Akershus and California Grill have credit card guarantees. They take a credit card number and if you don't show up for your reservation time, and you haven't cancelled within 48 hours, you are charged a fee ($10 per person for Akershus, $20 for Ca. Grill). Victoria & Alberts also does this. I can suggest only what I do - I do not book a reservation for my arrival day that requires a credit card guarantee unless there is at least a 5 hour window between the arrival of my flight and the commencement of the dining reservation.

There was a report on a thread yesterday that someone was asked for a credit card guarantee for Crystal Palace but that is the only time I have ever seen that reported. If Disney is expanding the list of reservations requiring a credit card guarantee, there has been no announcement in that regard.

I thought Akerhaus had a cc guarantee as well but couldn't remember for sure. That is a good idea to just stay away from places like that on arrival day or make sure you have lots of time. Plus sometimes you're beat from all that traveling that you may end up not really wanting to do the full TS dining.

they took my cc and told me about cancellation policy for PSB at Askershus. But they said nothing when i booked at CP.

You might consider adding the Disney Dine number to your cell. I keep the dining number programmed in my cell phone. If something happens, I can always call and cancel.
