Should I avoid Soarin' if pregnant?

I'll be 20 weeks pregnant when we go to Disney World the first week of May. I've diligently looked up all the rides that say Expectant Mothers shouldn't ride.

However, I know that most motion rides are not good for pregnant women either and this ride does not have a disclaimer for expectant mothers.

Should we try it? Or avoid it?

The motion during Soarin' is very mild, and I do mean VERY mild. Being in a car would probably be more hazardous to pregnancy than Soarin'.

It's not jerky or wild motions. Your seats rise up and then remain in the air, moving and tilting slightly to make it seem as if you are on a glider. I don't see why a pregnant woman couldn't ride it.

I wouldn't avoid it. The motion is very slight like being in a rocking chair. You're probably in more danger of trouble getting to Disney by air or car.

my wife did Soarin at 6 months with our first, and she did ok. Everyone is different. Good luck.

I've never been on the ride yet, but wonder about the seatbelt, I guess it all depends on how big you are at 20 weeks, but the only issue I could see might be with the seatbelt fitting??

The seatbelts are pretty long; you shouldn't have any trouble :)
It's a pretty mild ride-you should definitely give it a shot

If you are unsure, I wouldn't risk it. I thought the movements were very smooth and like being in a rocking chair but worry is not good for pregnancy so if the idea of it worries you - skip it and try it next time :)

Shouldn't be a problem at all. As others said, it's very mild. Much more gentle than a car ride.

You will FEEL like you are flying, but you will actually be moving very little. There should be no problem unless you feel a little dizzy, and then you would just have to close your eyes.

I'll be 21 weeks when we go at the end of April and this is the one ride where I plan on making DH watch DD while I ride. I went on it years ago and do not remember anything that would mildly put the baby at risk. I have been warned by other posters on here though that the smells and possible motion sickness could be an issue. I'm taking my chances :goodvibes.

I went last year around 20 weeks and it was not a problem at all! Can't wait to go back on it!

Seatbelts are supposed to go around the hips, not around the baby.

You would really need to ask your Doc this question. I could not see how it could be bad.

I went to wdw when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my dd. I went to EPCOT, AK, and MK all in one commando day! (I was only there for the weekend). Anyway, I did ride Sorin, and think you will be fine. I just avoided any ride that said "pregnant women shouldn't ride". The safari at AK said "pregnant women should ride" so I skipped it, although I think I would have been fine. I rode almost everything, except anything that spun, or had drops. Had a blast, but my ankles were so swollen, I could barely walk at the end of the day. I also had to stop at every bathroom!!

I was on Soarin' when I was about 20 weeks pregnant with my DS. No problems! I also rode TSM that day...and aside from a sore arm, I was good. My biggest problem was exhaustion...we did DHS, Epcot, and MK all in one day.

I rode wishes at 7 1/2 months pregnant and all went well. It was one of my favorite things we did that trip. I'm really looking forward to getting to ride it again only this time not pregnant.

The answer to the question would be NO. There is no reason to skip soarin because you are pregnant.

there arent many rides at disney i would skip while pregnant unless I had a health issue. But then i was also training and riding horses, shearing sheep and running my own business when i was pregnant 14 years ago.
Most women are built to carry a pregnancy just fine, even with an active lifestyle
