Okay, we're going for 5 nights at OKW in June. Also are going in Nov. so our points are used. We are bringing a dear friend in June with us. 5 nights seems like such little time.
We have 2adults, 3teens, and a toddler. Dear friend will get his own add on if we decide to go that route.

So my question is should we get 2 nights at one of the value resorts such as All star Pop? I realize we would have to get 2 rooms. I figure for 2nights DH can sleep in an adjoining room with the 2 DS and I and DDs can sleep in the other room. Our friend in his own room.

Now, at the chance of sounding like a hotel snob... I love the dvc resorts, the Cont. I was not pleased with the Poly (mid 90's) or the POR last June.
mainly because of the shape of the rooms, athough at the Poly that one trip I was less than thrilled with mousekeeping.

So, any opinions, I would love to add on a couple extra nights. I am willing to give up sit down dining etc. Cleanliness and space are my main concerns.

Sorry for the really long post.

I don't ever remember hearing ASR ever being described as spacious. If space is one necessity, I don't think you'll be happy there. Themeing, cleanliness and price would be right.

If you try it go there first and then you can say, "Yes, we're home!" 4 members of our Grand Gathering stayed at ASMo for 1 night, 2 rooms, and they were all satisfied. I think the price was less than $80 a room on a Saturday night in December.

I'd do it for 2 nights - it's 2 more days at Disney. FWIW, I'd probably not spend much time at the resort those days - I'd just use the room(s) to sleep in.

Maybe I'd schedule some long park days, evenings at PI or DD - or maybe even an off site excursion somewhere. After DVC, hanging around a small hotel room at one of the All Stars isn't much fun.

Best wishes -

Thanks for your opinions. I'm still on the fence. I do appreciate your input though. Thanks again.

before your stay at OKW - Pop should be fine - no WDW resorts (unless you want to pay lots and lots) will be as spacious as OKW - it is not fair to compare them.

but clean and nice yes.

there is a 2-bedroom at Polyn that has as much room as anything at OKW - and yea it rents for it too - what is it $3,500 a night or something like that?

One women says that the entire room at Pop would fit into her walk in closet.

So go there with the attitude that it will be small - but you are at WDW and are only there for a couple of nights.

Pop's lake has turtles - no fish (that I found), and hardly any birds - but turtles....very strange. I was feeding the fish and I realized that these things were much slower than fish and were turtles....

I have told WDW - but they might still be there when you come.

I would expect WDW to move them at some time.

For me it would be tough to stay at AS after staying at OKW. Our first and only trip to a Allstar Resort was the trip that we purchased DVC. The rooms were clean and up to Disney standards, but we found the rooms to be very small and too many people in such a small area. :charac2:

More is better! Even if it means a small room for a couple of nights, I'd do it.

We did a short 3 day trip last month at Caribbean Beach Resort, and while it wasn't BCV, it was pretty nice! And it was 3 days at Disney we normally wouldn't have done without the AP rate. It's still a bit more the AS or POP being a moderate, but also a bit more spacious. But with two rooms, I wouldn't mind staying at AS or POP, preferrably at the beginning of the trip, so you upgrade your room instead of downgrade at the end of the trip. We're not in the room much anyway.

Okay, I think we are going to do the 2 nights 3 room total at AS. Now for my next question, what are the chances of getting Sat. & Sun. in June at AP rate if I wait until they post the rates. (Does that make sense?)?

Thanks for everyones help so far and looking forward to more.
