Just because drinking is legal doesn't mean it should be legal to get in your car drunk and run over pedestrians.

I really don't understand your reasoning. People who don't do drugs because drugs are worthless are not going to suddenly start. So why would they suddenly be behind the wheel of a car?

Think of how much better off people in the "3rd world" would be. There would be no windfall involved in drugs so cartels would break up, entire dictatorships would fall, and farmers could sell their crops for a fair price.

I have to admit that I am surprised by the answers on this board - I really thought that they would go the other way.

Would that be covered by insurance? Now, my son has an ear infection and I have to take him to the doctor for a prescription for an antibiotic but the pain killer, such as cocaine or marijuana, I can pick up w/o prescription?

I guess you'd be just as likely to do that as you would get hammered or smoke a bunch of cigarettes to feel better? I guess insurance doesn't pay for me having a shot of whiskey for my nasty cough!

It's also dangerous, though. Over prescription of antibiotics could well lead to an outbreak of the flu or some other virus that is resistant to antibiotics. I'd rather see them legalize crack than legalize antibiotics without a prescription.
