If you harm any other person while smoking, drinking, or taking drugs, that's another matter entirely.

Just because drinking is legal doesn't mean it should be legal to get in your car drunk and run over pedestrians.

So, you're pro-life?

I voted no. It's bad enough I have to worry about being slammed into by a drunk driver, I wouldn't want to have to worry about someone high or stoned behind the wheel and I think legalizing drugs would make that more prone to happen. :(

By the way, I voted to legalize everything. If you want to poison yourself, go right ahead.

lol...You've obviously never seen someone "stoned" get behind the wheel of a car...About the worst you would get is a minor ding in your bumper :teeth:

Who said driving while intoxicated (in ANY fashion) should be legalized ? I've never understood that argument.

And if driving while intoxicated is the real fear, then shouldn't we make antihistamines illegal or driving without a proper night's sleep?

I really don't understand your reasoning. People who don't do drugs because drugs are worthless are not going to suddenly start. So why would they suddenly be behind the wheel of a car?

Think of how much better off people in the "3rd world" would be. There would be no windfall involved in drugs so cartels would break up, entire dictatorships would fall, and farmers could sell their crops for a fair price.

I have to admit that I am surprised by the answers on this board - I really thought that they would go the other way.

wvrevy - speaking of "moralistic" - have you ever met Robert Byrd???? Last I checked he was on the left side of the aisle so it's not only Republicans who enjoy market share in telling people what to do...

Erin :)

Someone please explain how this would work. I'm sick but just a cold or virus so no antibiotics but since I feel crummy I could just pop on down to my local pharmacy/distributor and get some cocaine to take my mind off the fact that I'm coughing up a lung?? Would that be covered by insurance? Now, my son has an ear infection and I have to take him to the doctor for a prescription for an antibiotic but the pain killer, such as cocaine or marijuana, I can pick up w/o prescription?

You mean former KKK member & Democrat Leader Robert Byrd  Yes...the left is sooo open-minded :rotfl:

No, just go to a store & buy it for whatever reason you, as an adult, choose.

They are recreational in nature.

I'm pro-choice - but not concerning an 8 month fetus. What you do to yourself at 6 weeks is pretty much between you and God, as far as I'm concerned.

Since when is Byrd the poster child for the left ?

Better to be open minded on the left than simple-minded on the right, but that's your problem, not mine :teeth:

I guess you'd be just as likely to do that as you would get hammered or smoke a bunch of cigarettes to feel better? I guess insurance doesn't pay for me having a shot of whiskey for my nasty cough!

And since you asked, in my travels, I have popped in for my own antibiotics when I travelling in other countries without a prescription. It's very convenient.

ah yes...equivocation.

It's also dangerous, though. Over prescription of antibiotics could well lead to an outbreak of the flu or some other virus that is resistant to antibiotics. I'd rather see them legalize crack than legalize antibiotics without a prescription.

It's called "reason", but again, anything more complicated than "with us or against us" seems to confuse some people.

As usual, you revert to personal attacks...then, you'll deny doing so.

As for Byrd, he is used as a poster child for the left when it is convienient for the left to do so.

You are one of the least open-minded people on these boards. you prove it on a daily basis. Anyone you disagree with, you condemn as stupid and evil. Your act has grown tiresome. :wave2:

that's a snappy little comeback, but would you elaborate? You think abortion should be legal at 8 months? I guess I'm pro-life once the baby is about full term.
