Shortest length you have owned

4.5 years. Have owned multiple resale contracts since 2013. Had over 1500 points at our highest. In process of selling off a couple last contracts. Once done we will be left with only one 200 point contract at BLT. Bought all out contracts resale, used the heck out of the points and then sold all the contracts for a profit. Because of the profit our last 200 point contract is basically free- just cost of annual dues.

I owned BLT maybe 6-9 months. We bought it with a different UY then the rest of our points and used extra points for a 2 BR Theme park view room and ended up with a low floor parking lot room (these rooms have all been moved out of Theme Park now). What irritated me more was that the lady in front of me was "surprised with a 2BR Theme park after paying for a studio for a week.

The worst part is that the DVC gave me the "I am sorry you feel XXX". This was right around when we also lost valet parking. We sold the points and bought Marriott. We had I think 600 points at the time and sold most of them and kept I think 150 and just sold the year's worth via transfer for many years.

I will say Marriott does a much better job giving owners the better rooms than DVC. When we use our DVC we assume we get the worst room and now that our son is grown it really does not matter (like the room over the garbage cans that they bang at 4 am). We just sold our AKV to buy VGF as we want to use studios and not really to go to the park. The best thing about DVC is they hold their value!!!

What is the shortest length you have owned a contract? We bought a resale contract, now I want more points, not sure if I want to go for VGF2 direct, then sell the resale or just try for more resale. I cant find the resale contract I want right now, so Im probably just being impatient. We should have bought more points from the start....but we didnt listen......
The first Riviera contract to appear for sale was not long after they started sales and had all original points in it. Its owner never used it, so I think it's equivalent to owning for zero time. It was an expensive mistake. Cannot be shorter than this.

We ended up buying a small direct at the original GF, because we saw the place and it was beautiful. After 2 stays (probably 2 years), we found GF just really wasn't for us. It's a gorgeous place, but we never felt like it was home - a few things we didn't care for. So we sold it after a couple years and bought more points elsewhere. Just our experience.

We bought a resale BWV in July 20' and in the process of selling it now to buy an EV. We love BWV but our original OKW is still the favorite.

I think up until the Riviera the fastest sale I'd seen was VGF. As I recall the Riv came up for sale a month or two before it even opened?

I found a post I had made about 1st resales:

Took a quick look back and VGF went on sale May 23rd 2013 to existing members and the first resale showed up the 3rd week of August so 3 months.

PVB began sales to current owners on Jan 12, 2015 and the first resale listing was reported the end of May, so 4 1/2 months.

BLT - sales began Sept 21 2008 and one of the first reports of a resale sighting was Feb 25, 2009 so 5 months but also 6+ months before BLT was scheduled to open. .

And 1st Copper creek was 7 months.

And to keep the info all together it appears that the first RIV resale occurred approx 4 months after 1st going on sale.

Our first contract was OKW in 2008, just sold it 3 months ago to buy a timeshare in Remington Beach right on the ocean.

Our vacations are changing.
