Would people be walking for New Year's Eve 2026 already?

Looking for a 2 bedroom at BW. Thought I'd try for New Year's Eve once in my membership life. Would people be walking that already? Or do you think it's for U.S. Thanksgiving? First day is gone whenever I go on the website. Mind you I wasn't online at 8 am.

The problem with BWV all 2 bedrooms are lock offs.

So, when studios go so do 2 bedrooms. But, the RV and BWV go pretty much at 8 am the majority of the year.

Walking of those views happens now for many times, including early December but pool/garden doesn’t have that same problem.

All resorts, though, will sell out very quickly for NYE…

But, I’d definitely plan on not getting one of the hard to get views and just go with P/G.

Ya we are planning on going over thanksgiving and it appears someone is walking a studio since all the 1BR are available. When I checked this morning Nov 12th was not available, but just right now it was; thus, I know a studio is being walked. I kind of wish they had a few dedicated 2BR for boardwalk view to book within the first month.

I have found I can never even get a walk started even weeks in advance at BW it is so heavily walked and booked. It’s pretty frustrating.

Ya the only issue we have is when we go with my parents we need a 2BR, which is impossible to get a boardwalk view. If we go without my parents we can get a 1BR and have no issues. I wish BWV would have some dedicated 2BR you could book, but I’m sure those would be walked as well.
But to your point, I’ll check 2-3 weeks before I would book to see if I could maybe walk and it appears I can never get a 2BR boardwalk view. I have no idea when I would need to start and I’m not going to deal with that stress of having to modify so many times.

The lack of dedicated 2 brs at BWV is a real culprit here. Contrast to BCV, which is shockingly easy to book at 11 months. The dedicated 2 bedrooms make a difference.

I’d book the 2BR P/G view and WL the BW view. You never know, it might come through - that’s how I got the BW view 1BR I’m sitting in now.

There’s probably no need to walk P/G view because there are so many of them.

DH is planning a trip the week before Thanksgiving, 2026...by the time we started looking to walk a standard studio, there were no standard view studios left, so he walked a BW view. I HATE walking stuff.
He's going to put in a waitlist for a standard view, but doubtful we'll get it for a whole week. We've never been studio people. This will be my first studio stay at BWV since we bought in 2011. (have done 2 bedrooms tho, and DH did stay in one last Jan, but I haven't yet.)

I’m fine with a P/G view but this is most likely the last trip my parents will go with us and they have always stayed in a BW view. When we went in 2024, we weren’t able to get a BW view either. My dad struggles walking anyways and the 2BR BW view rooms are so far away from the elevator anyways.

I agree, last time I booked P/G view I had a lovely view of an overgrown tree. Same points as Boardwalk View? Not worth it. But it might be what I have to do for a premium time of year.

I don’t mind the view of the shrub but that shrub is extra annoying when it costs the same as Boardwalk view. If they rebalanced the point chart I’d have no problem looking at the shrub.

We've owned the BW for a long time; never had problems at 11 months out until Covid hit. Since 2000, it seems almost impossible to get a BW view or Standard view at exactly 11 months out. It's crazy. We no longer travel during school vacay's as everyone is out of school now; so even during "slow times" (which we all know no longer exist), the preferred rooms are not really available at 11 months out.
Maybe DVC will address that next (now that they're cracking down on renters, thank God). We'll see.

Wow - 8 am - could not book my 7 night stay HH at OKW. People walk, walk, walk. Waitlisted. I have never walked but will have to remember next time if I want to book same time. Early December HH OKW popular.

I totally disagree, but it depends a lot on
1. How flexible your schedule can be
2. If you can book with some certainty at 11 months
3. How flexible you are about location and room size
4. How many days your vacations are

I have no flexibility on 1 and some flexibility on 3. I have some certainty about booking at 11 months, and usual have very certain plans before 7 months. I only have a little flexibility on 4; I like a longer trip. 11 month advantage is definitely worth it for me.
