For a change of pace, we are considering trading HH points for one of these resorts. Shorecrest is in Myrtle Beach SC & Turtle Cay is in VA Beach. Does anyone know anything about either of these? Or have a preference between VA Beach & Myrtle Beach? We are 4 adults & 3 kids - 12, 8 & 7.

I've personally never stayed at either resort or even been to Myrtle but I have been to Virginia Beach 2 times and LOVED It!
Actually I can't wait to go back. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is awesome. Even better that the Busch Gardens in Tampa.

I have been told that Myrtle is 10 times better. Like I said, I wouldn't know this first hand but VB Is Beautiful.

Anyone else?

My wife and I stayed at Turtle Cay this past labor day week. It's a beautiful but small "resort" right across a very busy street from the beach. We were rather limited as to our actvities due to my wife being 6 months pregnant at the time. There seemed to be plenty to do and lots of places for families to enjoy themselves. I would definitely go back. Plus the food was amazing.

I've stayed at Shorecrest. It is located in North Myrtle Beach, part of it is on the oceanfront and the other part is across the street from the ocean. There is an indoor pool, and outdoor pool, and a lazy river (all fairly small). They had some activities going on, but I didn't pay attention to what they were. Myrtle Beach has tons to do-- beautiful beaches, great restaurants, golf, two amusement parks (think small), there are two large outlet stores, Ripley's Acquarium, many dinner shows, musical shows, etc. For the kids, I highly recommend Ripley's; there is also a children's museum which kept our daughter amused on rainy afternnoon. It is a BUSY place year round, but especially in the summer. Lots of traffic--I haven't been to VA Beach lately, so I can't make a comparision, but you will not lack for things to do in Myrtle Beach.

Thanks to those who have replied. :)
