Shore Help!!

Sorry for so many questions, but...
it looks like we haven't been very successful in getting the excursions booked that we wanted (today is day 59...we should have called yesterday!)...can anyone give us some ideas on what we'll do without going on excursions....thanks again for everyone's help!!!

Check out Frommer's Caribbean Cruises and Ports of Call. We rarely purchase excursions from the cruise line any more, but instead plan our own. This book prints a new edition each year, and has a section on all of the major Caribbean ports. Each section has beach, excursion, and shopping reviews, along with contact information for the major tour operators. Many of these TO's run the excursions offered by the cruise line, but you can book with them directly, often for less.

We usually just kind of wing it, but the book is a good resource for how to get around, find what is within walking distance of the ship, and what there is to do in each port. I always bring it with me in case the ship gets re-routed and we find ourselves heading for a port which was not on the intended itinerary. This did happen to us once and the book was very helpful in planning something to do during an unscheduled call at Key West.
