Hi, all! This is a GREAT forum and everybody seems so friendly and very much into Disney!
Since this is my first post here, a little background. I'm a former WDW Cast Member. I did go on the Magic when it first started in 1998. I was working on the cruise doing guest surveys. We weren't allowed (by our boss) to take part in any on-board activities and had two hours at Nassau (which I didn't much care for). Hurricane Mitch blew through, so I got major sea-sickness the last two days. We didn't go to Castaway Cay due to the storm.
So, I'm looking at my upcoming 4-Night Wonder cruise as a first-time DCL cruise.
But I do have some questions.
I'm wondering where I can find reviews of the different shore excursions for both Nassau and Castaway Cay. I have found plenty of *descriptions* but very few reviews from people who have actually done the excursions.
Just for reference, it will be two adults who are Disney fanatics and who are certified SCUBA divers but don't really want to do SCUBA on the trip, but would like to snorkel.
Any reviews (or links to reviews) for the following activities would be greatly appreciated:
1. Nassau's Catamaran Sail & Reef Snorkeling
2. Nassau's Caribbean Queen Snorkel Tour
3. Nassau's Ardastra Gardens & City Tour
4. Castaway Cay's Walking & Kayak Nature Adventure
5. Castaway Cay's Banana Boat ride
6. Castaway Cay's bike rental
7. Castaway Cay's parasailing
Are any of these worth the time/money? Should I do something totally different? Go on my own? Stay on the ship?
Additionally, I'm wondering if anybody has done the "Romance at Sea" package. I have the following questions about it:
1. What comes in the gift basket
2. Is it the full massage for two or just the back/neck massage
3. Will I know when I get my docs what my dining rotation is in order to make my Palo reservation in advance (a perk of the Romance at Sea package). I don't want to miss AP or Triton's.
Any additional details about the Romance at Sea package will be most appreciated, too.
Thanks in advance!
