Shops...

Do all of them stay open after the park closes? Or just some of them? For how long? And the Main Street & Buena Vista Street shops open 1 hour earlier than the park, correct? I'm hoping to do most of my shopping before and after the parks close but don't want to miss any that might close early.

And just for fun...What is your favorite Disneyland shop and why?

The shops further into the parks will close with the park (although, if you're in the shop, they will let you finish shopping), but the shops on Main Street and BVS remain open after closing. The park closing announcement will say how long. The length varies from half an hour to a full hour after closing depending on whether there is a special event occurring that evening (e.g., MHP). Most of the shops on Main Street and BVS will also be open when the park opens it's ticket gates. So it can be up to an hour before the public opening of the parks (on MM/EMH mornings), but will be less on non-MM/non-EMH mornings (because guests won't be able to get into the parks until the ticket gates open).

Oh, how I LOVE shopping at Disneyland! My favorite shops are Star Trader for Star Wars/Super Hero stuff and ALL the Cars Land shops: Sarge's Surplus Hut, Lizzie's Curios, and Ramone's. They just have some really fun and unique items in Cars Land. I also like the new Humphreys store in Grizzly Peak, cute camping/National Parks themed items. I could go on and on....

The DIS Unplugged DL Edition did a whole series of podcasts on shopping in the parks. They walk you basically through each shop in an area and cover the items they have. I'd highly recommend you give it a listen if you are at all interested in shopping. I'm not, and even I thought it was pretty interesting.

My favorite time to shop is first thing in the morning before the stores get crowded and crazy. My favorites are the Emporium and Disney Clothiers. Have fun!

I think my favorite store is the Adventureland Bazaar. I've bought some great hats there!
