Shopping with Chef Gordon for A Private Affair

Just got word from Chef Gordon that the Legal Eagles at Disney have put a stop to guests joining him in shopping for the Privte Affair. Seems to be a liability problem in taking guests off property.

Originally, you were able to cook with Chef Gordon. What's next for the attorney's... No hot coffee? You might burn yourself!



The man can cook though. I highly recommend the meal even with the restrictions. He also gave some great suggestions of things to do in Hilton Head.

We are doing this in August, but I wasn't planning on shopping with him anyway. After all, I'm on vacation right? Just curious.....I don't see the "attraction" of doing the shopping with him--why would anyone want to?

We have done Private Affair twice, but have never shopped with Gordon. Both times, we would have LIKED to, but we were just too busy having fun to break away!

We have asked Gordon where he buys his seafood on the island and he said that he sometimes will go right to the docks and get the fresh seafood from the fishermen. I would love to go with him on one of those shopping expeditions, since you can get much better quality at a great price if you know what you're doing.

Aside from that, Gordon is a great person to be around, with a wealth of knowledge that he is willing to share; I would enjoy just spending the extra time with him and picking his brain!
