Hi Recent visitors,

I have been reading trip reports that mention the shops at MK closing ridiculously early these days..

What is your experience? (with MK or any park)

Thanx,

Hmmm ....

I don't remember the shops closing early at any of the parks. Then again, I usually only shop at the "main" shops like on Main Street or Mouse Gears.

Our experience: This was on Tuesday, 6/24 when the park was scheduled to close at 10pm with Enight from 10-1. We left BWV around 5:00pm and arrived at MK shortly after with the intention of catching some of the faster loading rides, grabbing dinner, watching Spectro/fw, then enjoying enight until 1am. I guess with enight & Spectro happening the place was just packed. I mean you couldn't move kind of packed. Even IASW had a 30 minute line with the rest lots longer. So, we decided to get our shopping done instead....this was around 6-6:30pm. The first place we tried was the Christmas shop. There were folks still inside but a CM came to the door and told us it was closed. After investigating further, we found that all the shops were closed. Now, we didn't try any of the shops on Main Street so I can't attest to thier closing times. But the shops in Liberty Square, Fronteerland, & Adventureland were closed.

We were at MK on Sunday, July 16, and found that a number of shops, the Christmas Shop in Frontierland included, opened rather late. I think it was 11 before they opened.

The larger main stores stay open until park closing, but the smaller remote stores close earlier (and open later). We were at MGM when it closed at 9pm, and the stores on the Blvd. were still open. Stores like Main Street Emporium in MK and Mousegears in Epcot are also open until closing.

I noticed on our July trip that once it got dark, all of the shopping in Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square closed. The only shops open in that area were shops that a ride emptied out into, ie. Pirates, Splash Mountain. The Fantasyland shops were all closed after dark as well. The shops on Main Street are open well after park hours until the park is empty.
