Shopping for a camera and need suggestions please

Here is the picture: me a wanna be awesome picture taker who needs simplicity and dream of a rebel but not the greenage! I am going to Disney in May and have a sad budget of $250.00 for a camera. Please send help...suggestions please!! THank you!!!

I shoot a Canon T3i and enjoy the hobby very much. My wife always gets mad at me because I don`t take enough pictures of the kids and too many of the buildings and other things at Disney. She uses her phone as a camera but decided she wanted a nice point and shoot for our next trip. I set a $300 dollar limit on myself and the research began. Based on her needs I decided on the Sony DSC-WX300B. I`m getting her this for her upcoming Birthday in May. It`s on Amazon right now for $229.00. It looks like a good camera for the money. That`s my 10 cents worth, I hope it helps.

If I were looking for a new camera right now, I would have a very hard time ignoring the Sony NEX 3NL/B that keeps showing up at Amazon for $299 (its higher right now, but I've received a few emails lately with the better deal)
The NEX has full APSc sensor quality and the ability to upgrade lenses in the future...just like a bigger/more expensive DSLr

You can use any camera and be an awesome photographer. Getting great shots is a lot more about skill and experience than the camera you use.

There are a lot of cameras in the $250 price range. Why not start with the buying guides at dpreview.com and get an idea of what you want?
