Hi Everybody,

We're going on our first 4 day, and I'd like to know what can be found in Nassau that are good bargains in local crafts/decor items. I loved Mr. Tablecloth in St. Thomas (I know that's not local, but it gives you an idea) and would like some input. puckerup:

Thanks,
Renae

We were there 1/3/05, and I did not find anything that I thought was a bargain. Most of the trinket stuff seemed to be priced double what I saw similar items priced in Cancun and Cosumel. One frog sculpture was priced $350, the week before we saw a similar one by the same artist in the Poly gift shop for $195.

We only went within walking distance of the pier and through the straw market.

Theres lots of cool stuff at the straw market...DW likes the straw bags....I like the different vehicles made out of Coca Cola cans....we collect them

The staw market isn't quite the same any more because it blew away in the hurricanes.
I didn't think anything was a deal. I looked at the expensive stuff too. I priced perfume, pocket books and even a Rolex. The Rolex that is stainless and gold with diamonds for numbers was $6,300.00 in Nassau. They are only $5,600.00 here in Ft. Myers.
Everything else was just a bunch of junk. The only stuff I bought were a few over priced tee-shirts at Del Sol.
