I went shoppping at Target and bought some soda that was on sale and I had a coupon for. When I got home I was unloading my stuff and a bag (their plastic ones) that had one bottle of soda in it, the bottom seam split and the bottle of soda fell out hit the ground and exploded, all over my brand new Uggs. I'm so upset and annoyed. My boots may be ruined (and I'm out a bottle of soda lol.)

:headache:

and my husband surprised me with these boots :sad2:

Contact your dry cleaner. Mine has a sign in their window that they can clean Uggs.

Good luck!

Edie

Get plain white paper towels on them asap, and put them inside. Blot blot blot up all the soda you can, do not rub.

Good luck with the dry cleaners.
agnes!

There are videos on youtube that shows how you can clean your uggs. I haven't tried it. I hope they are cleanable.

You can hand wash them with a mild detergent (like woolite) in cold water. Squeeze out as much water as possible and stuff them with clean paper or a towel. Let them air dry.

Didn't you use the UGG spray protectant/water repellent on them? My DD works for a shoe store that sells Uggs and always stresses the importance of Ugg care.

most are cleaning Uggs now but that Target should have double bagged a soda if was a liter. is another reason I have went to the cloth reusable bags as plastic is getting thinner and thinner and items going thru them....Also would call Target manager and just see if he offers to clean the boots

Store grocery bags are awful these days. I try to always bring my own bags and when we have soda, I pick up the bags underneath and not by the straps because I'm always afraid of them breaking.

Hope you are able to get them cleaned!!

I would hope they would at least replace my soda (I know it's only a $1). I'm going to contact them. Thankfully my uggs are a dark brown (I think chocolate is the technical term) so hopefully it won't stain or be super noticeable. This is why I don't own nice things lol! (and why I should have looked into spray or something before putting them on!)

The water repellent protector is great and i even have the special shampoo to clean them and my last pair lasted 5 years as those products worked great............

I found a suede cleaner thingie (it was a bottle with a little scrub brush on the end) at Target a few years ago to clean my Uggs that fell victim to a spill.

It worked!

Oh no, so sorry that happened! Hopefully they won't become permanently stained. Good advice too regarding water proofing. I second using water proofing for your shoes and boots, just need to read the label first, because some materials either cannot be proofed or will stain to one degree or another.

~~ I love you Phil, and you will forever be with me! ~~

I'm veering off topic now, but I usually try to bring my own cloth bags too. Of course I forgot when I was stocking up on baking supplies before Christmas. The cashier packed (2) 5-lb bags of flour, (2) 4-lb bags of sugar, (1) 2-lb bag of brown sugar, and (2) 2-lb bags of powdered sugar. I know she was just thinking "pack like-items together," but it was over 20 lbs of stuff! I was just about to say something when she lifted the bag. She looked a bit surprised when she lifted the handles toward my cart, but the bottom of the bag and all the flour/sugar still sat on her bag carousel. :rotfl:

OP-- good luck cleaning your Uggs.

I highly don't recommend this-you could ruin your Uggs! Go to a store like the Walking Company or some place that sells Uggs and buy the Ugg cleaner. Blot off all of the soda that you can and then use UGG brand cleaner (not any other kind) to clean them. If you can't find it-order from Zappos or somewhere that will ship overnight. We go through Uggs around here like paper plates, so believe me when I tell you that Uggs and a lot of water do not mix. Some colors will even rub off-almost like a coating (gray did anyway) when you put too much water on them. The real UGG cleaner works very well and will take out the soda stain if there is one. You also don't want to make the mistake of making the stain worse with tap water-especially if you have hard water.

I think the people at the stores hate me because I insist on bagging myself or I tell them how to bag things for this exact reason. It's rare that I find someone who actually knows how to bag groceries these days. I'll never forget the time this kid put a magazine and ice cream in the same bag. Really? What makes you think that is a good idea?

The grocery store I normally shop at recently took away their self checkout lanes and I hate it. They claim that it's to be more customer service oriented, but when the baggers don't know what they are doing, it's not customer friendly.

Woolite is a recommended product for cleaning uggs according to the Ugg Australia website. Uggs and hot water don't mix but of course the can be handwashed in cold water. How else would you clean the wool inside when it gets dirty?

YES!!! they can be cleaned! MY STORY: my dh got me a pair of black tall uggs last christmas well 1 week later my son dropped a bottle of BLEACH in front of me and it went all over my uggs and they turned orange...i was flipping out and took them to a leather repair shop .....well thank goodness I used the ugg protector because when I picked them up they looked brand new! The guy said that the protector saved them because he just peeled the bleach off hahaha :cool1: I would take them to a leather care / shoe repair and have them cleaned...they should be good as new. GOOD LUCK
