hi, just a quick question - does anyone have a clue how much roughly a cab would cost from allstar movies to one of the malls? any suggestions on which mall is best will try and fit 2 trips in during Nov. Will they be shut on thanksgiving? :confused3

Florida Mall is good. If you look at this thread there is lots of shopping info there :) Not sure how much a cab costs but someone will know :)

Festival Bay is at the end of I-Drive and is my favourite. has a v.v.v. large Ron Jon shop (my fave!) as well as Pac Sun, Vans, Hot Topic and loads of other shops. It's a new mall so it's really up to date with facilities and shops etc. It's even got a surf park if you want to learn to surf! :cool1: And if you still fancy a shop then there is another mall just down the road with more designer shops (Liz Claibourne, Lacoste etc).

Can you tell I'm a shop-a-holic?! :smooth:

Enjoy yourself!!

thanks, folks, also kaylee that was useful, many thanks

Can't advise you about the taxi fares.

But if your planning to go to the malls its best to go on the friday after thanksgiving. Although its packed with shoppers you do get the best bargains on Black Friday. Florida mall is my favourite shopping experience.

Hi

This is the first time Ihave done this so I hope you get this!

I am a big fan of the Mall at Millenia. The prices are much cheaper than here in the UK and the shops are amazing, especially if you like designer labels. It is great to see how the other half live!

It is worth having a look at their web site before you go to see what shops take your fancy and then comparing prices by having a look at the stores own web pages.

The Cheesecake Factor cannot be missed whilst you are there and the menu is fantastic.

Not sure how much a cab would be as right at the end of I Drive past Beltz.

Hi There

Well when we were staying at The Allstar Sports last August we got a cab from there to the premium outlets which we love and it cost $16, we had to return back to outlet a few days later so I asked at front desk if there was a cheaper way of doing it. They told us to get the Disney Bus to Downtown Disney and pick a cab up from there, which we did, the cost......$15 :rotfl: .

Heres a paragraph from my Trip Report

I’m not a big fan of Mall At Millenia and now that I’ve been I wouldn’t go back. In our opinion, the range of shops and value is better at The Florida Mall, Premium Outlets or Belz. I’d even prefer to visit a Walmart over another trip to Millenia! But hey, that’s just me. I never have and never will be interested in fashion, Trinny & Susanna, The Clothes Show or anything else that isn’t jeans, t-shirt and trainers. If however, you like fashions, labels and the price tags, then give Mall At Millenia a try.

While there are some nice shops in MaM - there are also lots of very expensive/exclusive shops that are beyond the reach of many peoples pockets. However, if you think you can "Spend it like Beckham" then Millenia is the place to be!

I went to the Belz factory outlets in Nov 2001 and I thought it was great there, the prices were soooo low! It may be busier over Thanksgiving but all the stores had big sales on because of it so that made up for it. :cool1:

My DH needs a new pair of specs - any idea where the best place is to get them? We've both got our prescriptions, but we need somewhere quick (only in US for 2 weeks) and reliable (obviously!). He might also buy some contacts over there - he has daily disposables.

All suggestions welcome!! :love1:

Mazda, I found contact lenses to be just as cheap, or in some cases cheaper online than in the USA. I purchase directly from a German opticians online (I use Focus Dailies) and the prices are exceptional. PM if you would like more details.
