Can we have a comfortable show thread? :)

I wear my UGG boots everytime I go to Disney but now that its getting hot I dunno what to wear :confused3

IMO- Disney is not about fashion, but rather about comfort. Now if you are able to do both that would be fabulous!!
SO, with that said, my only suggestion to you is to wear what ever spring/summer shoe is most comfortable to you

I have switched off between my New Balance Tennis shoes (that's just what fits me best) and my old fashioned crocs. I actually had hurt my achilles tendon right before our last trip and had to see a foot dr. He said a good running shoe (even for walking) and crocs are the best for a lot of walking. He told me that the regular orginial crocs are actually on the American Podiatry list of approved footware. I didn't want to make my tendon problem worse...

I absolutely love my crocs (and I never thought I would be hearing myself say that). They actually have some pretty cute ones.

Crocs sandals crocs boots crocs Disney shoes and crocs wooley mammoths swear by them :thumbsup2

Deck shoes (mine are Timberland). Comfortable, non slip soles. I love them, wear them most of the time when weather appropriate.

Can we have a comfortable show thread?

I find that the seats at the shows are comfortable enough but not for a long period of time!

Seriously, I prefer to wear good old tennis shoes with good arch support!

I'm a "swear by crocs" at Disneyland as well!! EVERYONE has at least one pair.

Besides great for walking all day at the parks they work out nice after being on Grizzly Run, Splash or Bugs Land!

You've GOT to get some!! You'll wear nothing else after you do!!

I wear Disney Crocs but I make sure to wear a pair of socks with them at least every other day or for half of every day of my trip (night time). Crocs can rub against the top of your foot and cause a blister. It's quick to take the socks off and toss them in your carry bag when you're going on a water ride :)

I've tried Crocs twice at Disney and each time they've given me horrible blisters...those little "bumps" on the crocs rub against the bottom of my feet (socks or bare feet) and give me blisters. BTW, I'm fine wearing crocs for an hour or two, but not all day. Anybody not familiar with wearing Crocs I would recommend wearing them pre-Disney for long walking periods and see how your feet do.

I prefer Keds and/or New Balance tennis shoes for Disney.

No offense but I can't believe anyone could walk around all day at DLR in Crocs. You must have feet of iron.

I recommend some kind of walking/running shoes or hiking shoes with a lot of cushion and a lot of support. Something that is designed to pound the pavement for long distances. Make sure they are well broken in before your trip! No matter what you wear, your feet WILL be sore at the end of the day, but good shoes can bridge the gap between agony and mild soreness. The funny thing is, our feet only seem to really hurt during the walk back to the hotel after the park closes. Must be a mental thing. :)

Yeah, Dave, I'm with you. Crocs are the devil!

I wore a nice pair of Avia cross trainers last time. Not sure if I'm going to wear the same pair or go out and buy a new pair for our trip next week! They were so great though.

I wore a pair of slip on loafers (a cute, modern style) one day and was SO sorry I did. I took off my shoe to blood all over my foot. I didn't even know I had been bleeding all day.

I guess I must...what's funny is that for years I had trouble with my feet no matter what the shoe...but since I've discovered Crocs I rarely wear anything else...even day to day.

Historically...hehehehe...I've worn Crocs on my DL trips 3 years in a row and every trip I'm surprised how well my feet held up.

Of course at the end of any day at the parks no matter what show our feet will feel it...but when morning comes the soreness is gone and I'm ready for another day!!

And like everything in life, there isn't one thing that works for everyone. We happen to be Croc lovers and they work so well for all of us.
Oh, and NEVER have any of us had blisters from them??? But we all do wear them big...maybe that helps? Who knows!!

For me, Crocs Athens flip flops. After between my toes and the tops of my feet got used to the material (for a week or two of having them, I had the tops of my feet pretty much entirely covered in bandages, but the BONES of my feet felt like singing a happy tune and that is what was important), they were *wonderful*.

Speaking of that, I have to buy more if they are still available.

And see, for me, wearing socks with the maryjanes Crocs worked for me in the morning, but as the day worn on, I started getting blisters *because of* the socks! I had to take them off as soon as I felt the rubbing, otherwise, I would get blisters from the nubbies on the bottom and on the top of my feet.

I do NOT have feet of iron. I have sad, hobbit-wide, feet with nearly no arch (it seems).

Running shoes destroy me in the parks (Avia, Saucony, and New Balance have all been tried at Disneyland/DCA) even though I wear them at home all the time. I can't fit my hobbity feet into the normal basic crocs without feeling extra hobbity, but I bought some maryjanes which don't *really* fit me (b/c they are supposed to fit all wide and breezy), and for awhile they were lovely, but I did have to trade out for my running shoes each day, and sometimes halfway through each day. Back, forth, etc.

And then I met a woman whose adult daughter has wide feet, and she introduced us, and the daughter was wearing Athens (with the tops of her feet covered in bandaids), and she said what was to become my own experience...regardless of what the material did to the skin temporarily, the bones of the feet were better, and that was what was important.

They are so cushy and cushiony and floaty and light! Love my Athens.

But that's why it's important to try to know what will work for you. And if you're not sure, bring a variety.

Crocs are comfy, however for me they seem to be slippery when it is wet. They had just cleaned the area where you get off big thunder mountain. It was wet and when I got off I slipped and fell. I hurt my knee and had to go to first aid. Of course they couldn't do much but give me some Tylenol. To say the least, the rest of the trip was miserable. The next day they had just hosed off the main in between both parks and I slipped again, re-hurting myself. So I won't wear them ever when its wet.

I wear sneakers in cooler weather and Teva sandals in warm weather. This seems to work best for me! :)

My friend swears by Fit Flops.....they are suppossed to work certain muscles or something while wearing them. They are sturdy looking flip flops, and they have some cute ones too (patten leather, sparkly, etc) She wore them on her DL trip when the weather was warm and loved them. I would definitely try them out at home first.

I had some Corcs flip clops that I loved but accidentally left them in the car in the heat of summer and they kind of shriveled up. I have not replaced them yet.

When we are going to be doing a lot of walking, it's tennis shoes for me. I already have issues with one foot and one knee and these work best to alleviate some of my usual discomfort. My brand perefence changes frequently by what fits best when I shop for them, but currently, both of my favs are Sketchers. I've got one pair broken in already and I am working on the second ones.

Last time we went I told my travel companion not to buy new shoes within two weeks of the trip. She did and then wore them to the park. She was miserable. We never take shoes we've purchased within the past month.
