I do not wear running shoes, I am more a block heal, or sandles girl. We are planning a full day at Disney and wondering what you recommend.

You will see a bazillion answers to this...so here's mine! :rotfl2:

I bought a pair of Teva leather sandals before our first trip in '98. They were about $70+ back then too, more than I'd ever spent on a sandal in my life! They had a more "hiking" sandal sole and style to them and I had nary a problem with them. I still have that pair of sandals today, and they are definitely showing their age and have been "well loved," but they are the most comfy pair of sandals I've ever bought. Well worth the investment.

I finally found a pair of sandals that are awesome for Wdw-- Teva's Spoilers 2K. I purchased them at the stride rite store (yes the kids store). I purchased them for our Aug 08 trip for only $24. In the past I alternated by sneakers and sandels-- never very comfy. This trip was soo different. I lived in the the entire 12 days we were there. We were hit w/ Tropical Storm Fay so it rained just about every day = all day. My feet never hurt me. They have a cloth insole and a nice arch (for a very flat foot person!) . I wore then every day after that trip until mid oct /early nov when it got too cold to go w/o socks.

Last Yr- we did a quick trip to AK while waiting for our room to be ready at AKV. I forgot I had my slides on. Man- I quickly remembered about 1/2 way thru our visit. I ended up w/ a big blister on the side of my foot. As soon as I got back to AKV. I packed up my slides and found my teva's. Will never make that mistake again!

I was just at the stride rite store again and picked up another pair for $24. I figured a 2nd pair isn't a bad choice since I love them soo much!

Good luck w/your decision.

I've worn my Crocs sandals ('Cleo' style) and Summer Sneakers (no longer available) from LLBean...this year I also bought a pair of Crocs 'Patricia' sandals that have a low wedge heel. You may want to take a look at the styles they have - I like Crocs because they've been very comfortable to wear all day and it doesn't matter if they get wet, they dry quickly!

Not sure...there are a number of websites that you can order from - possibly some of them ship to Canada? Maybe start with a Google shopping search for whatever style you are interested in...

I vote for Keen's. I bought a waterproof pair and wore them all through the world with no problems!!!

i'm a flip flop gal. I usually wear my reefs but this year I'll be sporting my Mickey Fit Flops!

I am so mad that crocs hasn't had any sale on their kids caymans at all these last few months.

I always bring a few pairs of flipflops (crocs/nike/adidas/teva mush) and a pair of teva sandals on each trip. I never wear the same sandal 2 days in a row. I think if you're used to flipflops, wear them there. I never have a foot/back problem with my flipflops. No blisters or anything. But can't wear sneakers for the life of me! I get terrible blisters and sweaty feet!:scared:

The trip we took a few weeks ago, I wore my Land's End shoes that I've had for 2 years. They are very comfortable but after a half a day, my feet were hurting. So I wore my Mark Jane Crocs the next day and my feet didn't hurt at all. I wore them the rest of the trip and my feet were fine. Even survived a day of rain.

I just had ankle surgery in Nov so I have to watch what I wear and these are great shoes! I wore my sneakers to work out in the morning and by the end of the workout, my toes hurt (normally my workouts involve water, not sneakers :rotfl:) but I highly recommend the Crocs.

Keen Whispers! I am a flip flop/no socks girl too and I love these "sandals". They have all the support of a walking shoe but feel like a sandal. My husband also has the men's version and loves them.

:thumbsup2
I have keen venice sandals and wore them to WDW last year, I just bought the whispers last night! So comfy!!
My husband wears keen venice and newports, and my kids each have the newports.
Keens are expensive, but sooooo comfy and a little more durable than most sandals! My kids wore theirs almost everyday last summer, and after a trip in the washing machine they still look brand new (of course they don't fit them anymore).
We all have happy blister free feet!

I wear my Disney Crocs. Of course I recommend getting them ahead of time and breaking them in. My DD wears hers the whole trip too. LOVE THEM!!!
