Shoes for Disney

I do not wear running shoes, I am more a block heal, or sandles girl. We are planning a full day at Disney and wondering what you recommend.

My best advice don't buy a new pair of any kind of shoes to go to
Disney. Wear your most comfortable shoes that you like to wear at home.
I have new sandals every year living in Florida but 9 times out of 10 you will wee me in my Roxy sandals I bought at least 4 years ago because they just feel good all day long. That 10th time to the park is probably when the day is too cold for sandals( even wear sandals-flip flop type-with jeans unless the temps will be in the low 50s all day), I will wear my old tennis shoes that never give me blisters and just feel comfortable.

If you do need a new pair of shoes to wear then buy them a long, long time before your trip is scheduled and break them in for months and months so you can wear them for a full day of walking.

The only shoes I could stand on our trip last week were these Clarks Artisan shoes I picked up at TJ Maxx right before our trip, but I have a few pairs of this type of Clarks and they are fabulous shoes. I even succumbed and bought a pair of Birkenstocks, which shockingly were not as comfy, and the Clarks weren't ugly! LOL

Crocs are nice, too, but I find that if my feet get wet or sweaty, I tend to slide around in them which is NOT comfortable. Of course, the ones I have have very few holes so I'm sure that makes a huge difference.

Found them! http://www.zappos.com/clarks-ina-sweet-black
They are the Bendables line, not the Artisan, and my straps are just slightly different, but they were seriously great shoes.

Keen Whispers! I am a flip flop/no socks girl too and I love these "sandals". They have all the support of a walking shoe but feel like a sandal. My husband also has the men's version and loves them.

I love the Keen Whispers, too!!! And for those afternoon thundershowers Florida is so famous for, the Keens can get wet and they'll dry out fast...

For years and years I have always worn good athletic shoes but my feet were always killing me by the end of the day. Last year, on the advice of someone here on the DIS, I bought a pair of "Cleo" Croc sandals. I also took my good tennis shoes. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have imagined that I would have worn those Crocs ALL 5 days in the parks. I just couldn't believe it! Ya know it's different for everyone. But for me, a 47 year old, 5' 10" woman with size 11 feet, they were an answer to prayer! Good Luck!;)

P.S. I recently bought 2 more pair of Cleo Crocs and they are going with me on my trip next month. I doubt I'll even pack my athletic shoes. Why bother!

I asked the same question before our first trip in '07 and got back many replies for Keens. I liked the look of them, but didn't like the price tag (they can be $90-$100), so I got on ebay and found the whole family some for half the price. We wore them all week with no problems. They are waterproof and much cooler than tennis shoes! I swear by them now and wear them everywhere. Good luck on your search!

I am trying to decide on the keen's. I am between the whisper and the balboa. I am concerned about all the straps on the whisper and my feet swelling but they were SUPER COMFY in the store! I love shoe threads! It's like the most important thing to figure out before the trip. BC bad feeling feet = a miserable trip!

I wear Teva mush for the most part. I do bring along a pair of crocs and Nikes but always end up in my Teva's.

Take at least 2 pairs with you. The best advice I ever got was to swap out shoes each day.

Personally, I take Crocs and running shoes.
