I realize a comfortable pair of shoes is important, but what if you could walk for miles in flipflops? What are the ride requirements, what about backpack purses, etc. I don't want to leave my bag with a wallet and camera and misc. stuff in it. We are brining a stroller, but will it "disappear"? Been a while and this is my kids first trip. Want it to be "relaxing".

Regarding flip-flops, you will want to take them off and leave them on the floor at Soarin', but this isn't a problem since you return to exactly the same spot. Not sure about flip-flops being a problem on other rides.

Regarding carrying your stuff. I've always used a fannypack -- ugly as sin, but carries my wallet, cell phone, glasses, and camera. DH always got away with just putting his wallet in his pocket until this last visit when we had another child and so more stuff to carry. His remark, "Wow, this fannypack sure is useful at Disney World!"

I've always left my non-valuables (diaper bag, bottled water, sweatshirts, etc.) in the basket of our stroller and have never had a problem. Sure, the CMs will move strollers from time to time, but I don't think that individual strollers get taken nearly as much as WDW rental strollers.

I second the fanny pack -- and the assessment of it as ugly as sin! To be super touristy I got the Walt Disney World one.

Since you can't take strollers in ride queues, I recommend bringing a sling or other child carrier to hold little ones in line. I hauled mine back out; hadn't used it since dd2 was an infant, but used it frequently on the trip to hold her in lines or to give dd4 and ds6 a turn in the stroller. It's solarveil fabric, so very lightweight and squishes up very compact.
