Shoe suggestions for all day walking in the parks?

I purchased a pair of athens (flip flops) by crocs this weekend. I have worn them all day Sunday and 1/2 day Sat. They are not bad and I am waiting for them to adjust to my feet. I was able to walk for about a 1/4 of a mile in them (getting ready for WDW) with no problem on Sat. The only thing I noticed was that I found the top strap was a little hot on my foot. I could be that me feet were swollen since I was on them for 2 days straight. I am going to bring the crocs and also my New Balance walking shoes and trade out the shoes at about mid day when we go back to the room. :thumbsup2

one difference between crocs and the knock-offs is that the crocs are a special synthetic material that is antimicrobial, meaning that bacteria cannot thrive on the surface. the knockoffs are mostly made of plastic or other synthetic material that are not antimicrobial. i think it is the special material that also make your feet not so sweaty when compared to the knockoffs... :confused3

I have extremely sweaty feet (genetic and medical condition) this said.. real crocs work wonderfully for me. my feet do not sweat in them. my favorite are the athens II flip flops and Cayman (holes all over style). My feet do not sweat in them, but I have tried Walmart and Payless knock offs, and my feet started sweating 5 minutes after trying them on. They actually started to squeak! I am taking my Crocs both pairs and my puma bashy, I love them since they are so light weight and breath, but still have to wear socks with them since my feet do sweat. I hope this helps.

I am trying to find out if anyone owns a pair of the "nile" by Croc? I want to know if the heel strap is removable? ;)

No the strap is not removable without putting holes in the niles sandals. You can flip it forward but it does not work as well as it does with the clog style crocs.

I wonder if i will get badly sunburned feet wearing these. I love the way the niles look. Very cute. Are they as comfortable as the reg. crocs?

How can i convince a very fashion savvy 10 yr old boy to wear Crocs? I hate carrying wet socks and hearing him whine!

So some say to get them big..but they say they run big. My shoe is a 9m, should I get the 8/9????

I love the crocs nile. They look more like a sandle and are open. They dry quickly too. If anyones interested in getting the niles for cheaper. Von Maur in Michigan has then marked down for $20 right now. You can call and order them and they ship for free and if you live in a state that doesnt have a von maur theres no sales tax either. Just an fyi, heres the number (734) 622-0233, ask for Lena. She was great and found me 2 pairs in my size.

I just ordered mine from Lena at Von Maur- She was super helpful. I got a Pearl pair of Niles and Kahki pair of Beach for $50 no shipping,no tax- AWESOME!!! Thanks TEXASTHREE. :wizard:

Oh good Trudi! She said she would call me if they get discounted even more! I already bought 2 pairs plus some Kswiss they had on clearance for my son!

For my kids I bought Lnad's End Sandals that are adjustable. OUr first trip was in Jan and I couldn't find any sandals for them and they had outgorwn theirs form summer. It was a fluke but they worked out perfect and I have bought since then for other trips. They are waterprood, have the big soles and adjustable in two places. I think I will buy slides for myself form there as well.

We only take 2 pairs of shoes each tennis shoes and the Sandals. I pack lite. I also pack half of the clothes I need and wash half through the trip. We bring 2 suitcases for a family of 4.

I swear by Earth Shoes. They're just the best. I bought a pair for my April trip and didn't have one issue.

I just bought a pair of the Earth Shoe sandals and they are the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn (besides my flipflops of course). I picked them up at Walmart for only $29.95. The first time I put them on I wore them all day and they didn't bother my feet at all. :thumbsup2

The best $32 I've spent. Funny this thread appeared today because I'm seriously thinking about going back to the store and purchasing another pair of Croc flip flops for my trip Sunday. They are so comfortable that it's unbelievable.

I highly recommend them if you like to wear flip flops.

I'm carrying my croc FF, my broken in Reeboks and K-Swiss, and about 2 additional pair of flip flops to wear around the hotel pool and water parks.

I just purchased my first pair of crocs and love them so far.

When I am in the parks, I suffer suffer suffer, have tried every shoe imaginable and still my poor feet..... :sad2: They become so sore that I can't even stand to step on the carpet back in the room. Last year I changed between sandals (birks) and runners. I still suffered. Am hoping that I like these crocs and then that is what I will take next year with me.

I am worried that the crocs will make the bottom of my feet sore.... :confused3
