hahaha, older people and shoe problem, give me a pair of rainbow flip flops and im good all year for any amount of walking, i only wear rainbows except for when i play sports.

Hmm, I didn't realize someone in their 20s was old. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 . Oh well.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone...I think I'll bring my Born shoes along and see how they do for a half day maybe..and will bring the gym shoes, and sandals. I guess I'll have to wait on the weather to see what I actually will wear. Thanks!

I just wanted to add that even though the shoes ARE comfy for running around in your daily life, they may not be the best for a WDW vacation. Both of my girls had Crocs that they wore throughout the summer and they loved them and thought they were the best thing ever. On our August WDW trip, the FIRST day of our trip, they both got hideous open blisters from the Crocs. They had the model with the hinged back strap. The metal that connects the strap to the shoe (on the inside) rubbed them horribly wrong after standing on their feet for hours in the heat. We had to cut our day short, get the first aid kid and revert to Keens and Tevas from then on. Neither of them has slipped those nasty Crocs back on their feet. :guilty:

I still think you usually get what you pay for with shoes. ;)

I totally agree. Just got back from 7 long days at the parks, and did have a blister problem (even with moleskin!). Was wearing my workout shoes, the ones I wear on the treadmill nearly every day. Thought they were broken in, but apparently, they weren't! Got a horrible blister on the bottom of my little toe. Bothered my for three days, they I switched to flip flops and was fine.

So my advice is, don't assume that shoes you wear in your day-to-day life will stand up to 12+ hours of walking per day. I wish I had brought my old, crummy tennies, which I wore to WDW for a week in 2002 - I know they're old and don't look great, but they're totally broken in!

Crocs! I have never had one blister from them.. they are super super comfy. I also sometimes wear the closed types with socks.. they are even MORE comfy!

I have worn them throughout the parks in wet weather, hot weather, cooler weather and humid weather.. and never even a tiny little blister!

Don't worry.. that poster is a classic "think-they-know-it-all"

I have a pair of flip flops that are the most comfy things ever, can I wear them to the park or should I worry about them sliding off on any of the attractions? :confused3

Off the top of my head, the only attraction I can think of where your feet dangle, possibly leading to flip-flops falling off, would be Soarin. When you sit down there, just slip your feet out of the flip-flops and leave them right there on the floor. When you come back down for your "landing", they'll be right where you left them.

A word to the wise - don't do what the lady next to me did, though. She took her shoes off and kicked them way out in front of her. Since you come back to exactly the same spot you left from, she had to get up and walk barefoot to where her shoes were.

I'd wear the ones that you feel most comfortable in, but also bring the sneakers and sandals...you never know....they may be comfortable around home, but walking, walking, walking around WDW they may not be! Hope you have a wonderful, blisterless vacation!

Well I guess I might be in the minority here but I only wear athletic shoes, mostly Reeboks when I go on vacation and plan on doing a lot of walking. This is what I wore on my last vacation and never had any trouble with blisters. I usually take two pairs of shoes with me so I can switch them off. And the suggestion on the socks is really a good one. I find when I spend a little more on my socks my feet are much happier.
