Hi there! We are headed to WDW next week and I have a feeling we'll be in for some rain. I know there have been so many threads about what shoes are the best but what do you think for in the rain?? I have my regular running sneakers and flipflops. But are there any suggestions for the best shoes in the rain??

THanks!!

I swear by my Merrell Palmetto's. They are a bit pricey, but you cannot be the comfort and they do well in the rain. I have now taken 3 trips to Disney and I have 3 pair of these and I have never had one problem.

I love my Lands End white water shoes. They look just like sneakers but dry quickly after getting wet.

I love crocs for rain and water rides--they dry really quickly.
They are very light weight so you can pack several pair in
your suit case and not weight it down.
You don't have to wear socks with them and I have never
gotten a bister from crocs compared to wearing other types
of shoes and walking all day.
Plus, Crocs has come out with plenty of New styles that are
fashionalble.

Croc Athens for me too! LOVE them - they are my perfect summer shoe, and Disney shoe

I love Teva Mush flip flops for the rain ... was at Disney last summer during a tropical storm and it rained every day ... they dry quickly and are very comfortable. This summer I wore Reef flip flops ... I believe they are made from the same material and although it never rained I wore a brand new pair to the park one day and had no problems with them at all ... so comfortable. I find Crocs to to a bit slippery walking on wet surfaces ... I'm famous for falling so I just don't want to take a chance and the parks.

Hmmm... I guess I'm the only one who's going to suggest tennis shoes (or whatever you call them in your part of the country). We were there for the wettest week of the year (May 16th-23rd) this year. Typically I wear my Tevas or Teva Flip flops. But with all the rain it was nice to have dry feet. And unless it is absolutely torrential - your feet will stay mostly dry in sneakers, especially if you are wearing a poncho. Only one day did I wish I'd worn my Tevas. It rained so hard in Epcot one day that we were literally wading through ankle deep water in the World Showcase. I guess they must not have good drainage?

Here's a tip if you do wear tennis shoes - if they do get damp, put a rolled up newspaper in each shoe. Completely sucks the water out of them. I learned this in Girl Scouts!:thumbsup2

Hi there! I am a huge fan of Chacos. They are spendy, but they are amazingly well made and were originally intended for water sports, so getting wet is no issue. They have nylon straps, that are adjustable, so you can adjust them if your feet swell, and they dry amazingly fast.

I have worn Crocs in the rain - Mary Jane style ones, and if it's really raining, I can't keep them on my feet. Once my feet get wet, the inside of the shoe is wet, and the traction wasn't great... It was work, lemme tell ya.

I would think most of the Tevas brand sandals would do really well in the wet.

I would never, ever, ever wear sneakers - if it's going to rain @ Disney, it's going to DOWNPOUR. Water will run down your legs and pool in your shoes and you'll be in some bad shape.

Plus, just the thought of sneakers in August makes me HOT!

mmeduri2000- I so have to agree with you! I love :love:my Land's End Water Shoes! I went in May when we were hit every day with some of the worst rain that would leave huge puddles when it wasn't raining and they were extremely comfortable and best of all did not make you feel like you were walking around in wet shoes. They are by far the best shoes plus they look nice!:lovestruc

The Chacos look great! I can't do flip flops because of a bum knee, but they look like they will provide good support.

For those that love Crocs - how do they do on support?

Love my crocs, if it rains or get wet on the rides, crocs are the best.

The support is excelent, your feet doesn't hurt like with flip flops. My DH has the flip flops crocs and they're so comfy as well.

I think I will definitely look into the Crocs.

I was on their site yesteday and noticed they had some new releases. They have a pair that reminds me of my favorite pair of sneakers. I wore those sneaks all over Ireland, in the rain and all and they were great.

These new Crocs look comfortable and dry! I am worried about my knee, so I know the plain old Converse just won't cut it!

I am trying Keens for the first time this year. So far they are comfy wet or dry. I have lots of foot problems so I hope this year to avoid at least a few of them.

We are taking Disney Crocs. They have a FABULOUS sale going on right now...buy one get one free! I bought 6 pairs of Disney Crocs online an hour ago...three adult and two kids for under 60 bucks!!!
