Anyone else just think it's so wrong for men to be able to go shirtless in public, while women get virtually stoned for "costume malfunctions" (think Janet Jackson here)?

I'm so sick of walking down the street, seeing a shirtless 250+ pound man with ****s bigger than any woman's, hair all over his back, chest, and stomach. How is that any less offensive than a woman going topless? Why are people so offended and outraged by an occasional glimpse of a nursing mother's breast, yet won't blink at the sight of a man's C-cup ****s hanging all over the place?

Maybe if society would stop objectifying women, we wouldn't feel so threatened at the sight of a bare breast, but what I want to know is how is it fair that men have the freedom to decide this?

He needs a "Bro"!!!

We'll there's a whole lot of attitude-changing that's going to have to happen to win your fight, but...

I do agree that there should be strict standards - enforced - for men to wear shirts in public. Like the old "no shirts, no shoes, no service."

I hope you're not referring to swimwear. That's just not gonna change.

My boys run around the house shirtless all summer. But they know that they don't leave our property without being fully clothed. Hopefully that attitude sticks with them.

When overweight women stop wearing spandex , we'll talk...

I will refrain from posting pics. :teeth:

Well...I think women probably admire good looking muscular men without shirts.

And as a guy, I'd have to say there are far more women who need to keep their shirts - and a lot of other things on - than ones I'd like to see without.

I am staying out of your neighborhood. :teeth:

I don't see a problem with shirtless men at the beach, their own homes, or in Silly Me's signature, but walking down the street I do not think is appropriate.

There are precious FEW people of either sex who should be wearing spandex. More often than not, it is not a pretty sight... (shudder)

Um isnt there a rule that says women are aloud? Maybe in Ohio (thats where i live) because it wasnt "fair" for only men to be aloud. Im pretty sure. I know we have this hippie fair every year and women walk around without tops. But ive always thought that though its legal, i bet cops would ask you to cover up. But not force you too. Hmm.. maybe ill give it a try and see what happens lol. If i get caught, i was doing research.

Then why did you ask Froggy to pull over last night and ask that man if he needed a ride?? :confused3

That is SO funny because I almost started a post on this yesterday....its bee SO hot lately that I've been seeing so many men walking around without their shirts on. I saw a businsesman the other day with his business suit slacks and belt on, but no shirt. :earseek:

I don't know what I think about it...it just looks odd to me, especially here in the city. At the beach, obviously o.k., on the construction lot o.k., but walking around the city, seems inappropriate.

Regarding the overweight comment, I was just using that to reference that a man's breasts can be every bit as large as a woman's, not that I'm offended because he looks so horrid.

BUT, I'm also referring to well-built men. They have nipples just like a woman does and they can certainly be used for sensual pleasure, so you can't use the argument that a woman's breasts are more sexualized. I mean, who cares??? They're just breasts! Why are people so threatened by them? I get so tired of being ashamed that I have them (and yes, I'm an overweight, middle aged housewife... but why should I be so much more ashamed than any fat beer-bellied man going out in public with no shirt???).

If a woman cant walk into a store topless, a man shouldnt able to either.

And dont argue breasts. because i know some woman who are basically flat chested, and some men, who could fill my bra several times over.

We arent monkeys. Put on a shirt when you go out! :)

Normally I love the pics you post...but thank you for refraining on this one!! :teeth:

And did anyone else hear that in Europe they are starting to ticket men who aren't wearing shirts (well, for now at least they are just warning them)?

Yeah, well earlobes can be used for sensual pleasure too, but I don't want to see men start wearing earmuffs. :teeth:

I can't imagine my husband ever doing something like that. He'd just as soon go totally nude as to go without a shirt in public. I have to practically force him to take off his shirt at a pool. My son is the same way. It's not that we're ashamed of the human body, but it's just one of those things -- if it's not proper for women, it's not proper for men.

i am pretty sure that it is legal for women to go topless in public areas in columbus, ohio. but i haven't tested it out so i can't know for sure. lol
