Does anyone know the easiest and for that matter the cheapest place to ship water through? Ive read that garden grocer, staples, and costcos all ships all do it, can anyone confirm this? And also if you don't mind me asking how much did the actual water cost? Thanks in advance!

I stop at a grocery store (trust me, don't do Gooding's unless you want to spend a lot) and get some water, maybe a couple of 12 packs for the room, plus some wine and soy milk.
In the parks, if you want water, you can get it free from any counter service in a cup with ice. My kids drink that much more than a bottle of water. I don't bring anything into the parks like that anyway.
After so many trips to Disneyworld, I found that free ice water is the best! The only place it didn't taste great was the Magic Kingdom.
I don't think shipping water is the best option.

Ya it would be easier going to a store but some people take advantage of the magical express and save the money on a rental car! Sadly it leaves us in this situation!

I checked Costco website yesterday and 24 half liter bottles of water will ship for $6.98 (that's the total cost including shipping), it will cost slightly more if you are not a Costco club member. I also saw where someone had a problem with a Costco shipment recently. The bottles were thrown in a bag and shipped that way, some were leaking. It was a mess.

I fly it down - put the bottles in plastic ziplocks in case of condensation, etc

Thanks - you got me thinking. Maybe slpit up a Poland Spring 24 pk between my luggage and DM's? I can put it in those huge Ziplocs?

I was going to ship but to make it worthwhile I tyhink it is better to ship 2 cases..... so I might give stuffing it in my luggage a go! I also put bananas in my luggage in a shoe box! I am crazy right?

I actually just made my final decision today! I decided that (for me) it wasn't cost effective to buy the water online and have it shipped. I just got off the phone with SouthWest Airlines and I was told that I could pack them in those large ziploc bags and put them in a cardboard box and they told my to tape it closed. I thought I should leave it open so they could verify the contents, but the agent said that if they need to open it they will re-seal it. As long as the box dimensions and weight limits were observed than it isn't a problem! YEAH ME!!!
I also asked about bringing a bottle of alcohol packed in my luggage. SW airlines sells packing material for $5 at the airport. But again, as long as you are bringing a sealed bottle in a ziploc bag (for your protection as well as protecting other passengers belongings!) then packing it well amongst your clothes/towels you will be fine!

I just placed an order with Garden Grocer for the first time yesterday. Since we arrive at night, it will be delivered to my hotel the next day. I ordered water, juice, soda, granola bars and snacks. It's great not having to worry about getting it there myself! :thumbsup2

I am planning on shipping the water. How far in advance do I have to order it? Do I give the address of the hotel I am staying at and my name? Where do I pick it up once I get to my hotel??

Newbie obviously.

I ordered 2 days ago for my trip in 11 days. I think I was cutting it too close to my trip because my arrival day had no delivery available and on the next day the only delivery time given to me was 6-8 pm so I had to take it. I'd order maybe a month or so in advance?

It asks you questions to narrow down where your delivery area is. One option is Disney Resort Hotels and then you get a drop down list of ALL the hotels and you choose yours. Then you'd fill in your name where it asks you.

From what I've been told, they deliver it to the hotel, and bell services will bring it up to your room.

They all have a minimum order from what I saw. Garden Grocer had a $40 minimum and a $12 delivery fee. I ordered a 24-pack of water, some vitamin waters, an 8 pack of soda and a few snacks (fishies, granola bars) and it came to $40.

Are you saying if I order from Costco, they will have an option to deliver to WDW Resorts? I don't have to type the address in myself? Or are you just talking about Garden Grocer? I wasn't planning on spending $12 on a delivery fee, but I guess it's worth the convenience. Better than flying it 3,000 miles from CA. Thanks for the help!

I ordered Sunday night from Costco online. We check in the 13th and I just got shipping notice of delivery tomorrow 12th. I am in Delaware and it is being shipped from Georgia. HTH

Sorry... that was just for Garden Grocer. Im not sure about Costco. I figure that even with the $12 delivery charge, I"m spending WAY less money having it shipped than if I'd bought all those drink in the park.:cool1:

I've done the Costco Route the last time we went. Worked great. I need groceries this time so I will include it with my order from gardengrocer.com

Did you give the address of your hotel as the delivery address? How long did it take to ship? How did it get to your hotel room? Lots of questions, sorry....

Gave the hotel address as the business and our name (maybe on the same line). It took maybe 2 days. The day I left (we left at night) I called the hotel and asked them to locate that and another package we had shipped and hold it at the front desk.

No problems.

That's perfect!! This water issue has been bugging me for weeks. We will be flying down on SW next Fri. and this will work out perfectly. I just hope the box won't be too heavy. A case of water is pretty heavy- so we'll see how much the box can hold. I can always throw a few bottles in our suitcases as well. But thanks for the SW tip!!
:thumbsup2

Why don't you pack it in a suitcase and take it with you. Then you'll have an extra suitcase for all the souvenirs you'll wind up buying! DH finshed up our packing and he spent so much time trying to stuff everything into the fewest suitcases possible that we wound up shiping so much back (and man was it expensive).

I weighed the case of 24 16.9oz water bottles and it was 20 lbs. I'm bringing 2 cases so...40 lbs. The weight limit is 50lbs per bag on SW airlines!
