I hope someone out there can help answer my question. I understand the process of shipping luggage to the resort because I do this from my shipping office. My question is how do I ship my luggage home? Do I need to have a FedEX account (I currently do not) or can I ship it UPS? Will I be able to do this from the resort (it's the AKL)? It will be in just a medium sized box which I will have taped and addressed. And how would I pay for it? Are they able to weigh it there? etc.etc. Thanks to anyone who has done this and can answer these questions. I leave in a few weeks and this is the first time I have done this and am a little nervous about it. :scared:

I ship a box home at the end of every vacation. We stay at the BWV. At checkout, I bring the box over to their conference center and the shipping dept. handles it for me. I've always sent it back home via UPS - they add the shipping charges to my room checkout bill. I imagine that's the way it would be handled at most of the resorts.

One year, we stayed at the GF. Had the box already packed and labeled and ready to go - they insisted on opening it and then re-sealing it themselves to make sure there were no hazardous materials inside. Can't remember if they do this at BW.

Thanks for the tip on the hazardous materials. I never would have thought of that. I will ask them while I'm down there if I need to bring the box unsealed. It would be nice if they would ship it UPS and just put the charges on my room account. Then I wouldn't have to set up a FedEx account before I leave. Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it.

They have boxes at the front desk, and you can choose your shipping method. They'll weigh it and charge the shipping cost to your room, even on check-out day. We ship a box home every trip, rather than worry about packing everything we brought plus everything we bought.

It was super easy. We just did it on 9/23 from the Poly. They found us a box, gave us packing tape, then we brought the box back ... they told me I had a choice of UPS or Fed Ex and how much I owed. Best $30 we ever spent since we were WAY over the airline's weight limit.

Do you do this with breakabls too/ What about the vino? I want that precious cargo to stay safe!

Thank you so much for the replies. That is exactly what I needed to know and puts my mind at ease. I'm going to pack packing tape and pre-addressed home labels and brown wrapping paper for the outside of the box into the box that I'm sending down there so I think I will have the supplies that I need for shipment home and hopefully the box will still be in good enough shape to use for the shipping home. I knew I could count on the wonderful people on this board to help me out yet once again.

1) SOMETIMES the Front Desk has boxes.
2) If not, go to the gift shop for extra boxes.
3) Get the shipping form from Front Desk of Concierge Desk.
4) They will ship FEDEX or UPS your choice) and bill your room.

would the Pop have this service available, shipping luggage home?
