Shipping items from park stores??

There are some fragile items at WDW that I would love to have. However, I am very nervous about getting them home due to airplane travel.

Has anyone ever requested having a package shipped home from a store? What was the cost and did it arrive safely???

I have shipped from the Disney stores on numerous occasions and never had any problems. I usually buy a bunch of fragile Christmas ornaments from the Disney Christmas store and it has been so much easier to have them mailed to me rather than cramming them in my luggage. :teeth: I don't remember the costs, but it wasn't too much.

It all arrived safely within 10 days of me being home. Good luck and have a great trip!

All items shipped are shipped with insurance...so even if the worse case occurs, you can get a replacement 'free of charge' sent to you! :)
 
i have had no problems shipping home except for one time. for some reason the art of disney store would not ship an item i had purchased. usually no problem!:tongue:
 

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. Fragile items are so hard to get home safely on airplanes!!! I'll be sure to check into this.
 
I just came back from Disney. I ended up doing some Christmas shopping & I couldn't take everything on the plane, so I had it shipped UPS right from our resort. The cost to ship it depends on the cost of the merchandise. If I remember correctly, under $100 was $10.95 (I think), over $100 was $15.95. The CM had to write down the UPC codes, item description and price of each item. As long as it's a Disney purchase, they will ship it.
 
We've shipped right from the stores several times. It is based on how much the items cost. For instance, I purchased a mug & a t-shirt from the sundies store in GF - I was carrying the t-shirt home, but shipping the mug. To ring them up together would have cost me an extra $2 to ship the mug.
So the clerk rang them up seperately.

I recieved my purchases within a week.
 
So, which is better to do....ship each item from the shop where you have purchased it..or, have your stuff sent back to your resort and then ship it all at once from the resort? Just wondering how the shipping costs would differ. And since we'll be doing some Christmas shopping next week and only doing carryon luggage, shipping the stuff home is a good option.
 
We've shipped fragile items from WDW maybe 3-4 times and never had a problem. When we shipped, we did not have to pay sales tax so that offset the cost of shipping.
 
We did this last time. If your package is going out of state you do not have to pay the sales tax. It ended up costing me less to ship stuff home than to bring it home with me.
 
i've shipped items home twice.

in june i shipped 2 boxes FULL from Pop Century (they wouldn't fit in the car). total cost was $21.

last dec. i shipped home large tink figurine from world of disney store at downtown disney. they take off sales tax if you ship out of state from store so with this and my discount for annual pass i ended up saving $25 even after paying $17 to ship item home.

will be shipping everything home in jan. as i am flying for the first time. hope this works out well also.
 
Forgive me if this is a stupid question but.....will they pack up my stuff in one box at the resort? If I do some of that Christmas shopping I don't want to schlep it home on the plane. So, if I keep everything in it's orignal packaging I wondered if they ship it all together. Thanks.
