Shipping Home?

I'm visiting wdw later this month for the first time and plan to ship souvenirs home.

I'm staying at SSR with my uncle and aunt who live in FL full time. I live in New York and only plan on carry-on luggage so I don't have that much space. I don't want to hassle my family by asking them to ship home my things, I also plan on getting something for them for christmas to remind them of our trip and I defiantly don't want them to see that .

I have read that I can ship direct from certain Disney hotels and shops, does anyone know which? I also read that the shipping is different from the shops and the hotels do I have the option or is it specific to each location?

Any tips there would be helpful. Do I need personal tape? My own box? Packaging to keep fragile items safe? Are there things they won't ship?

Also lastly is it safe? What happens if I never get my package or something shows up broken?

I would highly recommend getting a prepaid UPS label before you leave for your vacation. You can get tape and boxes from the gift shops, but I would get the UPS label in advance. Disney will tack on a shipping fee if you allow them to pack and ship....and it is more than a label and just barrowing a box and their tape.

For items that are breakable, I would have them box and ship....that way if it breaks it will be on them. UPS does provide $100 worth of insurance...but still if the item is broken it will be a hassle.

We always ship from the front desk of the resort we're staying at. We get boxes from the gift shop, pack everything up the way we want, and then take it to the front desk to be weighed and labeled and send it off. The cost is usually $20-$25 for 2-3 medium-large size boxes via UPS, with everything arriving home 2-3 days after we do. Shipping direct from a store can be done as well, although we've never done that.

Everything can be done at the front desk. We got a box from the gift shop at our resort, packed it all up, and the front desk took care of it. Couldn't be easier. We will be doing it again in May!

This may be a really dumb question but here goes...how do you get a pre-paid ups label if you have no idea what your package will weigh?
