I am planning on shipping a box of non-perishable items to OKW. What do I need to include on the label besides OKW, address, my name, check in date and ressie #? Thanks

I think you have it all. I would include all this info inside the package as well.
We've shipped food as well as our clothes without a problem.

We did this one year and our box arrived three days late (even though we sent it way in advance), and it was damaged! Fortunately I didn't pack anything of major importance that we couldn't get at WDW, but there were things in the box I didn't put in such as meat spices! What a surprise when we opened our box!

What is OKW? I am also thinking about sending a box ahead of time - do you think it would be safe to make a basket for my fiance (we will be on our honeymoon) and send it ahead of time to the resort that we are staying at?

TIA,

Jodi

Jodi,
OKW= Old Key West. The package was insured up to $100--I had to list what was in it. You can purchase additional ins.

I shipped my package yesterday to arrive by 7/3. I am tracking it on line w/ DHL and it has arrived in Orlando!! Hopefully, it will be intact.

Cool - Thanks for the information. I will probably end up doing this then.

Who do I call to find out the address and information I need to send something for us down at CBR for our trip in August?

:cool1: :cool1: I am sending a pkg to our resort for a July 20th arrival so I am sending it on the 11th..I called the resort and told them what I would be doing and they gave me the address for Wilderness Lodge..We were going to drive but changed our mind and flying now so have to send pkg.. :goodvibes :goodvibes

I have another idea for you. Instead of sending a box ahead, pack an additional suitcase with the goodies. Then when you leave you will have an empty suitcase for souvenirs.

Be sure to send your box UPS. Regular mail goes to the Disney Distribution center and may be delayed. I learned the hard way as this happened to me . I sent regular mail and it was 3 days late as well. Otherwise it worked out fine. Good Luck!

I guess what my question is, what type of things do you ship? Like water bottles for the parks, snacks, etc? Just curious, b/c I never thought of that.

I sent things like cereal,fruit rollups,bagels,juice boxes,peanut butter,pretzels etc.It worked out great.

princess: I like both ideas (put them in an extra suitcase and ship them ahead of time). This is probably a stupid question, but can you ship a case of bottle water?

I was thinking about shipping water ahead of time also.

If anyone ships or has shipped a case of water, please let me know if we can and how you did it. That is the ony thing I can think of that I can't pack and would need to send. Thanks

I tried to ship water a few months ago to a cousin in college (part of a care package) and it would have cost $17.oo just for the water. Not worth it IMO.

Have you considered buying water online and having it shipped right to your resort instead of your house?

Staples.com has cases of 24 bottled water that you can ship for free ~ IF ~ you sign up for their preferred customer club (which is a free signup).

Here's a thread telling about it from June. The price has changed to $7 or $8 per 24-bottle case, but it's still a good deal.

Budget Board ~ Staples water deal

As of today, they had this brand in stock for the Orlando area:

Ice Mountain Spring Water, 16.9 fl. oz.,
Item No. 396727
$6.59 per case of 24

I too have planned on sending a care package with bowls, spoons, cereal, non perishables but I was thinking instead of shipping, bringing water that I have a BJ's membership at home (MA) and was thinking of stopping at the BJ's outside WDW. Anyone ever use there card there...any problems? :confused3 Figure if I could buy a case of water there and bring to resort then Ill have more room in the car for the trip.
