Has anyone ever used this service they ship luggage to your destination was wondering if it may be something to use now that magical express luggage transport is gone looking to avoid having to get my luggage

I used them in October to ship a suitcase to AKV. I paid about $105 (w/coupon/56 lbs) to ship via FEDEX. Special labels were shipped to me overnight. Shipgo arranges the service and you can have them pick up at your house or bring it to the shipper they designate. You can ship a box or an actual suitcase which must have a TSA approved lock on it. I tucked a copy of the label in the front, unlocked pouch and another label inside the locked bag. CYA.

I brought the suitcase in to FEDEX about 10 days before our arrival. It arrived in about 7 days. The front desk was holding it for us and would not allow us to even tip them. It was expensive, however we were able to travel with one carryon. We shipped some things back home via USPS in Celebration and they were there before we made it home (3 days). I tucked a few flattened flat rate boxes in the shipgo suitcase along with a $ store roll of tape and scissors. You can schedule a roundtrip service but I wasn't sure how it would work on the way back.

I would use them again. Good luck!

Just wondering if anyone has used Shipgo since the previous posts and if so, how was your experience?

I am also curious of others experiences with Ship Go. From what I read on their site it appears to say you can’t ship things like spray on sun tan lotion or liquids? Just curious if this is truly the case. Usually we put those type things in checked bag but was considering Ship Go instead. Iif we can’t ship suntan lotion or liquids then it might not make sense.

Thanks.

Never heard of that particular company but have seen ads on TV for some others. Looks like a pricey way to avoid baggage claim and then it introduces new complications about getting it ready ahead of time and as someone else mentioned, restrictions on what it can contain. Certain items you can't take with you in carryon luggage in the aircraft, so not exactly sure what you do about those types of items. Seems like you are solving one problem and creating other new ones. Not clear of the logistics involved at the end of your vacation.

I don't think claiming my luggage at baggage claim is that big of a deal and without DME you will clearly need to rent a car or arrange one of the other forms of transportation from the airport which would include bringing your luggage.

Well, for me about the only thing I couldn't take that I'd need to purchase on the trip side of my flight would be sunscreen - and even with inflated Disney prices, it's still cheaper to buy it there than pay to check a bag.

It's so funny how different forums are different with luggage. This one people are fine with trusting any random person with the luggage. Over on a cruise-exclusive board, they're discussing if it's legal to put Air Tags in their bags so they know where they are at all times.

Not sure of the name, but on the ground transportation level at MCO, there is a company that will get your bags to your destination. They offer several options. Didn't use them but did see them when we were making our way to our transportation.

What does it accomplish putting some sort of tag on their luggage? Even if you know where it is, that doesn't prevent someone with bad intentions from stealing something in the luggage. I don't use the cruise forum so not really sure I follow their reasoning. I never put cash, passport, laptop or things of obvious value inside of checked bags, always keep those types of things with me when traveling.

IMO, It's not about stopping someone from stealing something its about knowing where your bag is if it gets lost.

I have no idea. It's not the cruise board on here. It's another board that deals with cruises exclusively.

I personally do carry-on only, so it doesn't matter to me.

The reason I asked about ShipGo was the really long lines at MCO to drop off bags at check in on departure day. I fly out of a really small airport on the way down, so it is never an issue. I was exploring a time saving option. We are doing carry-ons this time and grocery delivery to stock up our Owners Locker.

The fact that nobody has reported using them tells me enough.

ShipGo is most know for shipping Golf, Ski, and Snowboard equipment to resorts internationally. Yes they also handle luggage but their luggage prices are not low.
