What is going to happen to the Wonder when the Dream is in service next year? Will the Wonder still be in service?
A better question might be, what is going to happen to the Magic when the Fantasy arrives in 2012.
- Summer Europe
- Winter Caribbean.
And most likely a major refit after Fantasy arrives.
^^^ But won't the Fantasy basically take over the current Magic itineraries? I would have hoped to see the Magic relocated to the East Coast or Mid-Atlantic. Imagine it sailing out of Boston, NY or NJ!
Yes the Magic will no longer do 7 night carribean cruises.....
I really don't think this has been confirmed by DCL as of yet. The Magic can still do 7 night sailings out of PC, they would just need to leave on a different day of the week.
Its possible but a number of people cruising with DCL recently have all reported exactly the same thing, it is speculation but a consistent response is Winter 10/11 night Caribbean cruises.
If the Magic did the same 7 night trip, as a new ship, then there would be overcapacity on that route, and Magic would have to discount as the majority of people would want to go on the new ship.
We have evidenced in 2006 and 2009, when both Magic and Wonder were both sailing out of Port Canaveral, prices dropped, lots of offers, and they had lots of trouble filling the ships, if you have four ships, with a capacity of 5 to the current 2, then sailing two ships on the same route wouldn't be tenable, you have to offer a distinct service.

Once again is this fact or your personal opinion/guess?
I have not seen anything published by DCL to support this

How about basing the Magic out of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale? That would cut a significant portion of the trip if they were to do a more southernly Carribean trip and still keep it a week for turn around.
