I'm proud to say I lost again this week. Not much again, but a loss nevertheless. Three weeks in a row! Also, we still have only missed 3 days of working out this year so far! In fact, after I post I'm going to do 30 minutes on my gazelle.
Here's the WW topic this week:
We talked about the new government dietary guidelines. You can find the guidelines at www.health.gov/dietaryguidelines
It is now recommended that you eat 2 cups of fruit, 2 1/2 cups of veggies, 3 oz or more whole grain products, 3 cups of milk (low fat or fat free), only poly or mono unsaturated fats. No restrictions on carbs except to say you should focus on fiber-rich carbs and have foods with little added sugar or caloric sweetners. Increase potassium (eat bananas) and decrease sodium. Alcohol in moderation which is one drink for a woman and two for a man per day. One drink is equivalent to 1 oz hard liquor, 4 oz wine or 12 oz beer.
Something else that we do in our meetings which is cool is to discuss new discoveries (new foods, new tricks, etc.). I have a few to share.
1. Weight Watcher bread products (whole wheat, white and english muffins)
2. Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper
3. Take a multivitamin every day.
Applebees is partnering with WW and has a portion of their menu that includes the point values. Drawback is that not everything shows the points, but it does give you some choices.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
