:wave2: Peeps!!

Jenny the dress is gorgeous!! And saving $$ is ALWAYS good. I bought a designer wedding gown off the rack.... original price was $995, and you will never guess what I got it for ... I almost passed because of it, but my sister and friend talked me into it.

She will be OK by tomorrow I know it!!!:goodvibes...just gave Bree Advil for a fever....3 kiddos down...2 to go

Hope Katie is better and did not spread her germs to our Bree. :goodvibes

 I will pick Kindergarten over 9th grade anyday my friend

Thanks Jeanette  Did you discover that magical pixie dust that stops our kids from getting older?? :sad2:

So happy for your good news. You are always in my thoughts. And what a good idea .... you will need a nurse in January .... so Jeanette has to come on the RC trip!!! Then of course once she gets there her nursing skills are no longer needed and we'll all just have the most wonderful vacation!!! :thumbsup2

YES! YES! YES!

Janet: When does Sam start back or is she back already? I donned a little dorky smile at you mentioning Hermione's Time Turner. :thumbsup2 I'm still checking out Universal hotel pricing for our January trip... hmmmm. Maybe we'll do a little IoA / Disney split if the price is right. Not holding my breath on any sales though! :lmao:

Hi Miss!! Sam starts back Tues right after Labor day .... so she's get a week after we return from Disney, and has a mini band camp that week, so she will be busy!

I knew you would catch my HP comment We just loved WWoHP last year, you should definitely fit it in if you can. :thumbsup2

And just ask for drugs ... it will help immensely.

JanetB Thankfully the DS’s accident was our last day in the parks, but only weeks before our cruise and older DS’ knees were pretty raw for a while and not fun to deal with at the beaches or pools. Oh well, we try not to let much get us down :)

Kids .... what are we going to do with them? :) You do have a great attitude! And :yay: for school begining!! :cool1:

I also wanted to say as a newcomer, I love the sense of family on this board. I have two of my closest friends that I met on BabyCenter.com out of all places and I see that closeness here. Thank you again for welcoming me.

Melissa

Melissa ... These ladies all welcomed me warmly too ... and I'm not much of an RCer (mostly mine are all mental!) .. but I can throw in a DC or two (date changer). It's a great bunch of ladies that I'm very thankful to have in my life! :goodvibes

This is it. Everyone is ecstatic with our plans. We are done. I pinky swear :goodvibes

YEAH, RIGHT .... Pas will be needing to use her nursing skills to :stitch2: you up now and then! We love you MM!!!

I know I'm behind on my live tr, please don't kill me, but I have to tell you all this because I know you'll appreciate it. In the past 3 days Danimal has planned for us to stay at AoA, Pop, Beach Club, Poly, CR, and GF. :lmao: Does it run in the family or what?!

:rotfl2:

And it's awesome you ran into Iheartthemouse!! :woohoo:

Thanks Jeanette  Did you discover that magical pixie dust that stops our kids from getting older?? :sad2:

I just came on to post that I finally met you! You have such a beautiful family. So glad we got to meet. Hope to see you again before you have to leave :)

Wow, how is it only Thursday? G'afternoon, g'mornin' ladies! :goodvibes

I'm so happy and lucky to be a part of this crazy lot, too. :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Marie, Sarah, Newbie2013, NemoLeo, Melissa, Jen, Pas: Thanks for the words of wisdom! I have a call into the doctor's office for some knock-out drugs. Sounds far easier than going in wondering if I'll make it without freaking out. :grouphug: Hubs is driving so I'm all set; though, it's just down the road from our house so I could technically, laughably stumble my way home. I just knew you lot would have good advice. :worship:

Candace: Yeeeeeeeeah for WL! I hear ya on not doing the DPs or booking CL. Just reading about the DPs makes me hyperventilate. :lmao: I definitely prefer the less-structured way of vacationing -- all that credit stuff sounds like too much hard work to me. :duck: (Frankly, my 6 ADRs are giving me heart palpitations. :lmao:) Pinky SWEAR! It is set in STONE now. (Just our stones are usually made of Silly Putty around here, right?)

Dani: I LOVE Danimal's suggestions! It's in the blood! :rotfl: Yay for meeting I_Heart. :wave2:

Melissa: I like the look of your ADRs. Cape May is nice but it can be a tad noisy. Since you've booked dinner it shouldn't be nearly as much racket as during breakfast. I'd say our quietest two meals would have been dinner at The Wave (at the Contemporary) and breakfast at Fresh Market (at Swalphin). They both get mega thumbs up from me, especially Fresh. :thumbsup2

Pas: Poor kiddos. Hope the germs scoot and quickly. :worried:

MM and Pas: What did you two not like about CBR? Hmmm. I'm wondering about our POR short-stay now. :scratchin

Janet: That's more the timeframe I remember from when I was in school ... about 11 decades ago. :joker: We never went back until after Labor Day. They go back quite early here: some were back this week and our district next week. ... Hmmm, I've got a few months to work on HP indoctrination for Miss M -- think I can convert a 5 year old before a January IoA trip? Sounds like a tough job to me.

Yeah, the DDP can get a little crazy with all the credits and such. We have always found it to be valuable because we have always done alot of character meals, at least 1 signature, etc... but at this point, we have done all of the character meals, and we (and the girls) are ok with not doing any on this trip. Plus, we ran into so many situations where we wanted to pick up a FP but couldn't because the return time was during an ADR time, etc...that used to be ok when they didn't enforce the return time, but now that they do, it's not doable. We are excited to roam free and maybe even have an ice cream and corn dog for dinner sometimes! LOL.

CBR...what can I say? I mean, it's pretty. You can see Spaceship Earth from it...

But, the layout is really big. I know some people downplay it, or really don't mind, but we are a fit active family, and it literally took 10 mins to walk to the main building for a snack or mug refill, and then 10 mins back. Kind of ridiculous after being in the parks all day. I didn't love the room, there were some minor mousekeeping/maintenance issues that certainly could have and should have been addressed. Did I complain while there? No, it wasn't something I couldn't live with, but annoying all the same.

We didn't like the internal bus stops, it just made the trip seem sooooo much longer going to and coming from the parks.

On the plus side, the customer service was great. Southwest let our luggage get off in Nashville without us, so we were without luggage for 2 days. The CBR manager comp'd us $100 to get some toiletries and clothes for a couple of days. He didn't have to do that, that was nice. :goodvibes

It was just our least favorite resort for sure.

Miss I've stayed at CBR and POR .... I love the music at CBR but POR wins hands down for everything else. I've always stayed in the Mansion section and all the buildings seem close to the main pool and a quick walk to the main building for food and/or shopping. I love the theme of the main pool and the quiet pools have been just that. Love the boat to DTD. The landscaping is beautiful. I get the same peaceful easy feelin at POR that I get at WL which is my favorite resort but not my favorite location since I'm really an Epcot girl. Hope this helps some. :confused3

Hello to all. We got here safely. Wonderful flight. We were upgraded both at the hilton by the airport (club level) and here at the portofino. Our room is beautiful. We have a patio overlooking one of the pools. Tonight my dh is going 2 help me post pix. He is being sosweet taking pictures and telling everyone that I am writing a trip report. :goodvibes weather last night was beautiful with a nice breeze. We saw the newnight show at US 100 years of movies. Liked it. Tonight my dh has secured tix to a taping of wwf for the ds's. Can we all say. YUK. But I know they will LOVE it.

Thanks for the great send off. I will try to find time to check in later......... :wave2:

MM: Ice cream for dinner! Sounds like a perfect meal to me... especially if I could add a Starring Rolls cupcake? :rotfl: Ah, I've always wondered about CBR, not really looked into it much though.

GG: Phew! Thanks for the review of POR. I think the Royal Guest Rooms are located in the mansion area? (Don't quote me.) The "feel" of the resort is what we're most looking forward to experiencing. Well, that and because it's someplace new for us. I hope we'll have enough time to explore before we head over to BC. You all really have my curiosity piqued over WL now, too!

Step: Yay for uneventful travels AND upgrades! :thumbsup2 Sounds like your trip is off to a beautiful start... :goodvibes

Have a wonderful stay. It's been many years since I stayed at one of the Universal Hotels. Can't wait to read what you have to say and see lots of pictures. Thanks for taking the time on your family time to keep us updated! :thumbsup2

Just stopping by to say  and a very warm :welcome: to our newest members! (I'm an oldie who has not been around much lately ;) )

Janet, know you don't leave for a couple of days (and we'll likely chat before you leave and/or on the train!)...anyway...have a wonderfully MAGICAL visit with your family - this trip is going to be very special.

Hi everyone! I have been reading but not posting so I owe lots of comments. But now I am so far behind I am overwhelmed! I am going to do what I can from memory and just send Hugs to everyone else - especially the newbies (I am pretty new too and these ladies are great!)

JC - glad you got good news but sorry you aren't feeling the greatest! I love what your doc said! I am so glad he is encouraging you to go on all your trips!

MM - I wondered how long it would take you to go back to WL. However, I am not sure that will be your last change ;-)

Step - have a great trip and post updates!

Who else is there now? Is Dani back?

Ours too, for similar reasons...we had a great trip, but just not a favorite resort...

Here's a hug back at ya

It's a lovey day today.....KOOK SHOULD BE IN FLA RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!

Okay, the task I gave myself for the evening was to go back through the last few pages and try to figure out which real name was associated with screen name. So please correct me if I am wrong, and of course feel free to add to my list, but I think I figured out:

pas130 - Jeanette
Minnie&Nana - Christine
Gwynne - Ginny
Jungle Cruiser - Sarah (which by the way is also my DD's name)
Grumpy Grandma - Linda
Mousemommy1 - Candace
Disney Dreaming - Dani
chim02u - Marie

and then the obvious, Janet and Jen, but those didnt take a lot of research to figure it out :lmao:

See I am slowly learning the ropes here ::yes::

Thanks for the ADR review and suggestions. YC seems like it is going to be easier than WL, I am afraid that WCC is going to be too loud for DS, not to mention I didn't see anything on the menu that DS and DD will eat, did I mention they were extremely picky eaters :rolleyes2

Candace - I am glad you brought up the bunk beds, that is exactly what I have booked for Feb. I am thinking anything more than 2 nights and DS and DD will kill each other sleeping in the same bed. Do you have a recommendation on room location? I think I read that the north building has a better chance of seeing Wishes

I know the Royal Rooms were mentioned too. We have that booked in Jan, DS and DD both loved they way they looked and I keep trying to convince myself that I can handle 2 nts in a moderate. WOW that sounded SNOBBY :snooty: We actually stayed at values in 2011 because we were doing 1 nt trips and also doing a big cruise that year. But no cruise or big vacation this year so I feel the need to spend money :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great evening! I suppose I need to go fold a load of laundry, YUCK!
Melissa

Nice recap on the names! :thumbsup2

For us, the bunk beds are well worth the extra money! The girls love them so they actually sleep in them vs. sleeping with us (as usually happens in hotels) :goodvibes
If you want a view of Wishes, you can request a higher floor room in the North Wing, overlooking Otter Pond. :goodvibes

WELCOME! pixiedust: Melissa!!!! good job on the names! 100% correct, you did well :goodvibes
if my boys (16/20) where not such bruisers, it would be a great option for the bunk beds.....unfortunately, we've never been able to utilize them, on our first trip in 2008 when the boys where 12/15, they didn't fit (they where too tall!) and we had to give up our BB room at AkL CL for a two queen room!
If the kids fit them, I'd take advantage as long as you can :thumbsup2

Great job Melissa  I don't think you sounded snobby at all!!!! I would book value if I needed too, but I'd prefer to spend on a deluxe over a mod...it's all personal preference..

Re: WCC...DH will now never do dinner there after hearing the antics. He is shy with being the center of attention, so it may be too much for your DS, but I like the CS there at WL...overall WL is quiet, but so is YC...it's all which park you want to do the most I think :goodvibes

BB are great so the kiddos have separate beds...unless they are my kiddos and feel the need to all squish into one :crowded: :rotfl2:
