Just wanted to pop in and say Hi! :wave2:

Been crazy busy this week, went to the Patriots pre-season game last night (a perk of them being my account for their workers comp claims) :thumbsup2

Traveled up to Portland, ME today for some "forced fun" with the annual summer BBQ at work. :p

Looking forward to a somewhat low key weekend, as we haven't had one of those all summer!

So happy that Jeanette and Dani got to meet up, and WOW! Jeanette sacrificed her beloved RPC for the WL?!?! I love it! Mid trip RC'ing. :rotfl:

I love all of the Halloween stuff...we have a TON of Jack Skellington figuirines and stuff that come out at Halloween (DH is a bit obsessed with A Nightmare Before Christmas).

Feeling sad that I have 253 days till my next trip, but I guess I'm just happy I've got one in the works, right?

Hope everyone is well! :goodvibes

I've been to WDW twice when I've seen the Halloween decorations and twice to see the Christmas decorations. I think I prefer Halloween (although I suspect that's partly because of the lower crowds when I'm there).

pas130 & dani: Awwww, you guys look great!!! princess: princess:

janetB: Bingo-rama baby!! That sounds like a good time. I'd definitely roll with that at the lake. And if they offer Twister, you'd best call me! :woohoo: Our big deal-eo at our cabin town is the trip to the Dollar General. No kidding. It's all about perspective. :upsidedow

jungelcruiser: I get ya completely. I wanted one more Poly stay as-is because we like it as-is. Of course, once the reno is done I will like that too! ;) ...I am always trolling for WDW fabrics and I've gotten some nice ones over time. I do curtains, pillows and shower curtains. Years ago, I got Mom a awesome unused Resort bedspread. She adores it. I will try to remember :crazy2: the Resort it came from, or if I can't I will take a pic when she gets it out for winter. It's probably from a Mod. It's blue and has characters on it. She's a lucky one, they don't make 'em that way anymore. :)

missoutandabout: No, never the CR Garden Wing. Only a few Tower stays. I want to do the CR GW Deluxe room there. It looks spacious, and I want to see the monorail going into the Tower as I come and go from our room. ::yes:: The walk to Tower food, shops, etc would be no different, and probably much less, than most other Resorts. I actually like the location out there on the GW point. I think it will be nice to watch the boats go past and be surrounded on 3 sides by water. When we take the boat to/from either CR or WL, I always imagine myself staying in the GW.

_____ :donald: _____

A big HELLO to RCers and HELLO & WELCOME to new RC faces. :wave2:

Oh dear, this thread is at the bottom of page two :confused3! pas would be so disappointed if she knew...so Shhhhhhh...don't tell!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We know pas and dani are! :goodvibes

MM: Don't be sad about your trip so far out....it will fly by!:goodvibes

Hi to everyone else....

Good Morning All

It sure has been quiet with Dani & Jeanette away. Nothing exciting going on it has been very humid here again so been staying inside planning my trip. By planning I mean changeing ADRs and park plans :rotfl2:

I have 108 days and have resolved to keep the BWI this time.

All this talk about Halloween has me thinking ahead to a trip in 2013 for MNSSHP & F & W !!! :cool1:

Hi everybody! :wave2:

Can't wait to have my first glimpse of the castle from the Poly! :lovestruc

I hope I get to meet Dani! <disclaimer> I'm pretty shy so I hope I don't get to embarassed to say hi

PS. Sorry if I'm missing any "G"s in any posts. My keyboard is acting funky and I'm trying to catch them all, but I may miss some :lmao:

Aww 2 days!!!! I'm soooo jealous!!! ::yes::

Hope you have an amazing trip!!! I am up to my usual RC'ing ways....wondering if the Poly is the best choice for this trip....my fam is just so stuck on the WL. We really did have a perfect trip there....but, I keep telling them there's no guarantee of having that same experience again, and maybe we should just leave the memories at the Lodge! :lmao:

The Poly will be great.....won't it? :worried:

Good morning! I am on a train on the way into NYC to do some shopping with my daughter. For those of you with kids (especially teenage daughters), you may not believe this but my daughter wants to shop with me for my opinion, not my credit card! :goodvibes

I Heart the Mouse, don't be shy, Dani is a sweetheart! I went up to her last year in SL one afternoon and said "Are you disneydreamin247, I am JungleCruiser? We didn't talk long, and we chatted briefly the next day (poor sweet Lily was sick), but I am so glad we met! If Dani sees this I know she would say the same  So excited for you! you must be busy packing!

Kook, Magic, Janet, did I miss anyone? You three are off to WDW this week also. :cool1: I hope evryone is bringing cameras for pictures of RC meets!

Jenny, 5 weeks from today we will be in the car on our way down. We take two days to drive, so we will be there 5 weeks from tomorrow! So excited to meet you. I will PM you this week so we can start to figure things out. I know you don't have a cell when you are there, but it's all good. we will make it work!

Sjs, have you done any ADR tweaking or just gathering information? The weather broke here yesterday, today is finally much less humid (otherwise I would venture to NYC and the subways )

Next stop NYPenn station. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I can't believe we're gonna stay with that clown!!!! :faint:

But that pool is the perfect setup for my family...

We got a standard CL room...:cool1:

Makes sense since we spend way more time at Epcot and DHS than MK. Walking distance to parks will be wonderful!!!

Jungle Cruiser: I forgot...we will have our ipad, so I will give you my email address too!

MM: :faint: you always surprise me!!:thumbsup2 The boardwalk sounds amazing too!!

The BW is amazing and being able to walk to Epcot & DHS is wonderful. BW is the first stop for buses which is a big plus IMO

Luna Park is a beautiful area, scary clown and all :rotfl2:

Sarah I have been tweeking away like a crazy person, switched my Park DHS around and then switched back to my original plans with the exception of our last day. I made an ADR for CRT in hopes that the tree will be in place on Main Street by Dec 3

Have a great time shopping in The City with your DD today!!!

I love the BWI rooms, they are adorable! It's just the stinking clown....

I might need some meds, lol!

Jungle Cruiser - thanks for the words of encouragement  I don't even "know you", but know you are on my mind and I am pulling for you. pixiedust: Hope you have a fun day with your DD. :goodvibes

Mousemommy - I love the Boardwalk. I thought I would hate the clown, but I didn't even really notice it. It fits right in with the theme so it works :thumbsup2

sjs - keep tweakin those ADRs! I find that I have to always be doing something with my ressies or I get bored. I'm still not done messing with my planning for this trip. :rotfl2:

Ok, back to :laundy: and packing. :hyper:

I'll try to go back and multiquote but thought I'd stop by for a quick "hi" :wave2:

My exciting news is that I'm STILL fighting fleas at DD's apartment! :furious: They have sprayed once a week since I've been here and we still have those stupid critters. Spent yesterday looking for apartments .... getting out of here asap! She'll have to break the lease but we're walking in with doctors notes ... guess it's a good thing that both DS and almost DIL are both lawyers. DH and I both have backgrounds in building codes, code enforcement, housing and dangerous buildings and tenants rights so I hope we are well prepared! :thumbsup2

On happier thoughts, my favorite parks are Epcot and DHS so I love staying anywhere on the Boardwalk .... but my favorite resort is WL .... if that makes any sense???? :confused3

Everyone have a great rest of your weekend!

Well...one more piece of the April trip solved...DFIL is officially not going. We made him decide today because when I called to change to BWI, I checked on the availability of larger rooms to accommodate him too. There was a BWI deluxe room available with the mil discount and a BLT 1-bedroom!! Those are pretty rare with the discount! We made him decide to snag one of those rooms....we thought he would back out, and he did. I get it, he's still having trouble with this hip, even after the replacement, and now his other hip bothers him...:worried:

Well, at least he'll be here to take care of our kitty-kitty! ::yes::

hello my friends! I've had a hectic and exhausting week.....I posted this on the budget board, but I'm hoping maybe some of you could weigh in too.....To set the story ( sorry it's going to be a tad long!) I've had a stressful week as we found out that we are into a loan situation for our current vehicle worse than what we thought we had arranged on the date of sale. our original plan was to have a 60 month car loan and then be done.....I told the dealer we could only do payments of $350 per month.....he went to the sales manager, came back and said no problem....we can do that, what they failed to tell us was we where put in a balloon pmt loan where we pay for 60 mos, then owe another $11,300.00 at the end!!!!:scared1: our fault for not scrutinizing every line with a fine tooth comb, and trusting too easily. EXPENSIVE lesson! We now want out of this loan/ vehicle all together......with that said, I'm going to copy and paste what I wrote on the budget board......any help/thoughts on which vehicle might be best, I'd love to hear!!! I'm off to the dealers first thing in the AM, and I'll be making a decision tomorrow!---- HERE GOES---------------------------------------------------->>>

HELP!!! please can you give me some thoughts on the following two vehicles. We unfortunately found ourself in a balloon type loan on a 2011 FRD Escape, which we all HATE. our dealership was not forthright in explaining the loan, and if we stay with this we have another 3 hrs of payments, and we will still owe $11,300 T the end of it all. We have been driving it and paying for 2 yrs, with 60,000 KM (Canadian ;)...) on it. So warranty has basically expired. We are looking at getting out and refinancing into a non-balloon loan. YES, I realize I will have a loss of about 5k due to this financing mistake. BUT....I want out now before I am further into this escape and it begins to break down, etc....

I am willing to take a hit, and start paying for a vehicle I really want, if I must make car pmts. I better be paying for something worthwhile and that I like. I've decided between the two vehicles: 2012 Subaru forrester or 2012 Hyundai Santa fe.

I've always wanted a Subaru Forrester, due to reliability and AWD ( Alberta Canada can have some harsh winter conditions).....I need to drive why to work, and get nervous when driving on Icy roads.
Now, Santa Fe has AWD option too, but not the same as the forrester, it's more of a driver activated AWD , and you push a button when needed. Hyundai has some amazing deals and rebates (5,000 off) to offer to bet rid of 2012 stock....they also have quite nice options making a very nice package at a good price. Subaru is basic in comparison....but I am most concerned in getting a vehicle that will LAST and give me RELIABILITY in the winter and overall for the next 8 yrs or so......

I am going to the dealer tomorrow.....one to the Subaru dealer to see what kind of deal they can do, and then to the Hyundai dealer if we choose to go that way....I spent all day Sat with the salesperson, and have been given the deal, so know what I'll get from them already. Santa Fe looks like the best for all the things I'll get,: a very nicely loaded vehicle (mid line...NO NAV, but that's ok as I have my garmin), full protection pkg....rust, undercoat, paint, 3m on lights, hood, handles, paint and fabric protection, tow hitch, all season mats, free oil changes for life of ownership) 5 Yr , 100,000km warranty.
Diamond protection on windshield.
So the Santa fe looks best right now, but I don't want buyers remorse wishing I'd gone with the Subaru for overall reliability, safety and AWD superiority.

WWYD??? which vehicle do you think will holdup best over time!?
I'm not concerned with debating the financing issue, as those will vary and it is a way I need to go for now....I am most interested in which vehicle would suit me best and be most reliable! I don't want a situation of buyers remorse with a piece of junk in 5 years!

Okay, here I am. I have been running around like crazy securing everything or our trip.... TWO DAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are now leaving Tuesday night and staying near the airport because Route 66 to Reagan Airport can get tricky. So.... everything is just about finished.

Tomorrow, or later on today actually, we will actually pack! :yay::yay::yay:

Okay, someone fill me in. 15 pages since my last thread post. :scared1:

Who is gone? Who is going? When and where are we meeting?

I didn't check in on line, too much of a commitment. ::yes:: Just in case we end up somewhere else... (CR) :cool2:.

Going to sleep now but I'm so excited :hyper:.

Goodnight RCers.

Marie ~ wow! Sorry about the car situation! Sounds like the dealer totally hosed you and sold you the most expensive Ford Escape ever!!! (unless they just cost more in Canada)

Between the Subaru and Hyundai, I would choose the Subaru. Hyundai has come a long way in their product, and they have a lot to offer for often really great prices, but their resale values are not good at all. The value depreciates a ton just driving it off the lot. :headache:
