The bad weather in our area has wrecked havoc wirh the area airports. The weather has pulled out but delays abound. I texted Jeanette, no reply yet, but her flight is delayed just over an hour and a half. They aren't due into MCO until 1:15 Thank goodness it's just her and her DH and not any kiddos. Hopefully the delay won't be as long as posted. That being said, I would think Grumpy Grandma is going to get uncomfortable in the suitcase for so long.

Just before I hit send I got a text from Jeanette. They are fine, had dinner at Earl of Sandwich at the airport. Lots of flights have 3 hour delays so she said 1 1/2 isn't too bad! That's our Jeanette, always positive and she will be on her way soon!

Thanks for posting the update on Jeanette! I'm so sorry to hear their flight got delayed. But, at least they got some yummy dinner.

I'm sure by the time she checked-in she thought, "Hmmm, I could have just waited a few hours in a rocking chair by the fireplace until 0700 to check-in and not paid for a room yesterday. Well, I'm sure she thought she'd get there at a more respectable hour. Taking such a late flight is always a risk, but I hope they at least got some sleep. I don't want to text her in case they're still asleep and she forgot to turn off her phone, but knowing our night-shift queen, she's in her whirlpool tub getting ready for rope drop

Didn't they let you out yet? They arrived at WL at 0230 and DH doesn't want to leave (I could have told her that - maybe I did). Jeanette describes it as 'amazing' there and she has a North Wing room facing the MK/GF/CR. I don't know if DH has been told yet about what's happening tomorrow morning, as in, bye-bye WL

Hi JC! Yes I am usually up for any resort, but this time we are going back to old faithful Poly. After boycotting it for several years, we are returning to get in one more stay before the reno. You don't hear that one often, do you? Next week this time I will be chillin in a cabana.

DH and I are banking on a CR Dxl for our early spring anniversary trip, so that will be a new experience for us staying in the Garden Wing instead of the tower at CL.

Love your TWO tickers by the way. I will be anxiously awaiting your Monday DR report. Best wishes.

I'm glad you stuck with BLT. Your 3/9 really is a great way to preview a resort for a possible longer stay.

We have only done OCI once and I have to say it was a bit of a letdown. I love walking into the resort, taking it all in. The smell, the decor, just being at WDW . I also love chatting with the CM checking us in. To me it's part of the experience. I missed that with OCI. I know, I am strange

On another subject, Kook have I lost my mind again? Am I better off YC CL than the cottage suites at BWI? I haven't called to see if they are available with the discount, but they are showing availability online. Should I call? Should I just leave the phone alone? Thanks for any advice. You're like Dear Abby for the resort-torn.
I have a bit of good news. Both my kids have been waiting to hear about new jobs for awhile. They both got firm word today that they got the jobs! No moves are involved, which is good, too.

Gwynne, I adore the cottage suites. They are really cute and you still get CL with just a little bit of a walk. I would say it depends how long you will spend in the room/cottage as to which you'd pick. .... Congrats on your kids new jobs! I just got back from my first trip to Wyoming. Lucky you get to visit regularly.

That's it, I refuse to do OCI. If I can't chat with the CM and ruin his day by telling him how excited I am, and how I just came up from Boca, and how I've never stayed at BLT, but I've stayed many times at CR and how I changed the reservation a million times... Then it just won't be the same.

She should be. Men just LOVE the WL, in general the GF, not so much. My DH is a prince and will do whatever the girls and I want. However, he would pick the WL over the GF any day. I know she wants RPC, but it's going to be a tough sell. I have faith in her. We'll see how this unfolds

Magic, the Poly, pre-renovation sound great. I like the renovations in terms of updating rooms etc., however I often long for the old patterns on the bedspreads, chairs etc. Again, I am a bit strange. However my friend k&a&c'smom agrees with me we miss the old decor at the GF. My DD got me some GF fabric in an old pattern off Ebay for Christmas a couple of years ago and I had a chair slip covered in it.

I think I had a successful resort changing intervention via text

Jeanette's DH was not happy with the RPC surprise. Not even Tigger or Pooh could convince him at CP. They went over to the GF and tried to cancel the one night 'surprise' reservation. GF told them they couldn't keep their WL room - sold out. I suggested she go right over to WL and ask the concierge to keep them in their suite or a standard CL room one more night and cancel RPC (I did this last year, but with the Poly and they had everything straightened out in 5 minutes.)

Good news: They were able to keep them in the suite the extra night that she had originally booked. All is well, and not only does DH love it there, but someone else does too
