That's too funny! Sounds like something my DH would say, except that he doesn't know about the whole 45 day mark thing. :lmao:

I'm looking to our 45 day mark so we can hang up our countdown calendar. :goodvibes

yes, that's how I know he is a WDW fanatic too, he does know these random things! And sometimes random things that I don't know!

We don't have a countdown calendar...would spoil the surprise!! :hyper:

What's the deal with the 45 day mark? I think we're at 45 days tomorrow! Yikes! I better decide what I'm doing!

And we've had (my DS5 and I) a countdown chain going since day 75 I think.

I'm slowly pulling DH into my Disney obsession but he's definitely not a fanatic....yet. :rotfl2:

That's true....I forgot about y'alls being a surprise! I always think about doing a surprise trip for Reid but I know it wouldn't last. :rotfl: I'd have to tell him - he loves to talk Disney as much as I do. The other day we're walking into a restaurant (hadn't been talking about Disney), when he pops up with "Mommy, are we going to need Fast Passes for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad?" Love my Disney obsessed child! :goodvibes

Once you hit 45 days, you can be penalized for package changes. If you change your package & the price goes up, there is no fee. But, if you change & the price goes down, then they charge you some fees.

Countdown chains are cute! I thought about doing one of those. May have to do that for the next trip.

Grumpy Grandma and Gwynne- we are very excited about Thanksgiving at WL, but will definitely stop by the Grand for some gingerbread:)

I'm so happy for you too, Dani! I'll be living vicariously through you :) I'm starting to have the weird Disney dreams now.... You know, showing up at the resort and it not being what I expected at all, or forgetting my passporter book at home which has all my tickets in it! Yikes, I hope it's not a glimpse of what's to come! :faint:

I'm sitting in the chair now waiting for my color to process Fingers crossed for good results! ;)

I can't believe our trip is SO soon. I really just can't get over it. Soon I will be in Disney drinking a cocktail or 10.....you get the idea. :rotfl2:

Very true my friend!:stir:

Pixarmom: Thanks for the lovely words about the fam! Ok, so how did I miss you are doing an Alaska cruise??? I sooo want to hear about it! We want to do this one, and maybe rebook on our cruise next year for it if they are still offering it! ::yes::

Jen, we are SO excited about the Alaska cruise - it's the August 27 sailing, right before school starts. Perfect combination of new adventures and Disney. I'll definitely report back when we return!

Pas, Bree is adorable! And if I end up carrying a tweedle dum with a hoop back from MK to CR after MNSSHP, I'll ask my husband to get a photo!

I am basically healed from my "face plant". I have an itchy, scabby chin, and am a bit bruised, but have put it behind me.

Speaking of monorails. For those of you going I will be curious to hear how they are running. When we were there in April, they were constantly breaking down. Not hearing much about that now, may it is better?! :confused3

Hi JC! Glad to hear you're healing! I'm also interested in hearing monorail updates - staying at CR in October (although we'll likely walk to MK at least part of the time) and Poly in January - both part of split stays. Hoping for improved monorail operations!

Now I'm thinking of upgrading to BC...or 5 nights at CBR and 2 nights at Poly. Thoughts?? Never stayed at CBR or BC before.

Welcome, Kohl! We've stayed at all three and really love both Poly and BC. BC is our favorite, but that's because I've always been an Epcot girl. I think the perfect combination is a split between BC and Poly - easy transportation to MK for the Poly stay and easy transportation to DHS and Epcot from BC. Good luck with your decision!

Kids are happy and healthy.

Great news, Dani!! So excited about the final days of your countdown!

Did you nab any goodies?! :)

Miss, we did! Two DCL track jackets for our older boys. They grow fast and need new sweatshirt-type clothes for the cruise. Can't wait to see them!

We do love Chef's de France. We can totally scrap Captain's Grille and go to WS for dinner. It's just a short walk.

Yay Step - I hope you'll be happy with a WS dinner! Very short walk, I think, and so many good options.

Good morning resort changers!!! I'm new to this thread, but I feel better for having found it.....my name is Jill, and I'm a resort changer! :rotfl:

I'm really leaning towards the YC but I think he's leaning towards CR. oh, and a split stay is out of the question. So it's clear I belong here with other kindred spirits of change!!!! :). I'm pretty sure in the end we shoul put each of the 3 on pieces of paper then blindfold ourselves and throw a dart. If anyone has suggestions for each of these 3, I welcome ALL and any input!!!!! ;)

Welcome, Jill! I do love YC and we really enjoy so many things about the Epcot resort area, so that works well for us. (Actually, what really works best is a split stay between an MK resort and an Epcot resort, but I know that's not an option for you!) We also have lots of ADRs in Epcot, so if we had to choose one, it would probably be YC for overall atmosphere and location. Good luck with your decision!

...
So a little update on me  DH and I both got transfers, I will be making the same $, he will make a little bit more. We start the day after Labor Day. Our apartment is right on the main tourist strip in Kissimmee, behind Chili's and pretty much across the street from Orange World--just a couple blocks from Old Town. I have started to organize and trash stuff, but I'm dragging my feet when it comes to packing.

So before I go.... lets talk anniversary. I'm thinking of booking YC-CL for a night. Is that dumb?? I also thought of booking a LM room for New Years. I'm waffling.

Luv, this is SO exciting!!! I'm looking forward to hearing more about it as you make the move!

And absolutely book YC for a night for your anniversary - GREAT idea!

FYI, My spouse is a go with the flow kind of guy . He doesn't care where we stay, as long as he does not have to plan anything, or pack.:goodvibes

Welcome, ellie'smom! Good to have a go-with-the-flow husband when you're a resort changer! :)

Love this! I'm the proud parent of three boys who often refer to employees at non-Disney restaurants, hotels, etc. as "Cast Members." :) So I know about those happy moments!

That's too funny! Isn't it funny how much joy you can get out of your child showing off their Disney knowledge? :goodvibes

Good Morning RC Friends!

Dani....I think you are the next one going to the World. Very shortly, you'll be at the Poly:yay: I know yall are super excited to say the least! This is for you....

Today is my last day of freedom....teachers start tomorrow:scared1: Kids start Aug. 1. Sounds crazy, doesn't it?! At least we get out early....like May 20th. Oh well...at least I enjoy my career choice....could be worse;)

Happy Hump Day to everyone!

Restaurant month in Orlando-September

For RCers visiting Orlando in Sept., this is a deal. The page will show menus as we get closer to Sept.

http://www.visitorlando.com/magicaldining/restaurants/

We won't be there in Sept this year, but we have enjoyed this in the past. I made reservations early, the restaurants do fill up. It's very nice to see Blue Zoo and Il Mulino on the list, great dining, fantastic savings, and onsite.:goodvibes
(And a bit of a tip--sometimes you have to specifically ask for the Restaurant Month menu, some restaurants don't just give it to you automatically.)

I don't have time to multi-quote right now, but hope to later:flower3:. Have to run now to drop DD off at camp 1/2:upsidedow, then get some lab work done, go to the gym, etc... Crazy week - miss you guys.

Does this mean this will be one of your last 'good morning' photos?:guilty:. We're going to miss you, but I KNOW you'll still be working hard on your great TR, so I can look forward to that. I got a little behind, but can't wait to catch-up later today.

And aren't you sweet:goodvibes I'm going to try and keep up with this thread...miss yall, too, when I'm working.

Heather What a gorgeous photo! DD was very excited to see it!

I can't believe how early you have to go back. That is CRAZY!

:yay::yay:11 Days!!!:yay::yay:

How much of a hassle is it to switch resorts mid-trip? DS5 and DD16mo. How does it work? We'd be checking out and going to a park first thing in the morning most likely, then coming back around lunchtime to check into new resort. Will they take our bags? When would they normally get there?

Heather :  :teacher: :thumbsup2 Wishing you well! I know how hard it is... Here's hoping that you have wonderful students and parents.

Koh1977: I wouldn't switch while at Disney mainly because for the FD deal, you have to have tickets attached to your room so I would have to purchase park tickets with each room and park tickets are better priced the more days you have. A 4 day ticket and a 3 day ticket is a lot more than a 7 day ticket. This is the only reason I don't book split stays. I do know (from RC research of course) that they move your bags for you and you can call and set up the pick-up. I would check out and then check in before going to the park (that's just me). I would rather have that taken care of early just in case your room is not ready. This way, if you wanted to take an afternoon nap/swim/break, your room would, most likely, be ready for you. ALSO, I'd do all BC......(I'm a BIG Epcot Resort fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) If you can swing all Poly, that would be great with the little ones (having the monorail).
