Pixie Dust and Magic, Magic, Magic! :goodvibes

We are at YC. BEAUTIFUL UPGRADE alert. Wait for it..... Wait for it.... From my multiple windows and balconies I can see SAB and the boardwalk. I can hardly believe my eyes. I am taking pictures of the suite and the views. I haven't stopped crying yet.....I feel so blessed. :lovestruc. Had to share it here first. Got to go....DH is saying "are you seriously stopping to post on line......" Had to share this with my RC sisters (and occasional brothers). :yay:

Wow Step!!!

You were upgraded to a suite?!?!? That is amazing! So happy for you! :wizard:

Congrats. That's fantastic.

Thanks! Yes, the storms were bad but thankfully occurred at opportune times and we weren't left stranded in the rain. We had some rain at about noontime on Fri cabana day, but they extended our 10-2 cabana for as long as we wanted that day as they had no second shift takers. We hung out til about 5pm. :woohoo:

YAY on getting the cabana for the rest of the day! That at least makes dealing with a rain just a bit better ;) Sounds like you had a great trip!

I just made the MOTHER of all changes. :cool1:I just happened to check my dh's employee website. Lo and behold cruises were discounted. I just booked a 4 night cruise on the Dream at over 50% off. I guess nobody wants to cruise in hurricane season.:confused3 1100 for a 4 night cruise.:cheer2: Ok so were back at WL cl before cruise and Bc Cl after cruise. WOW what a multitude of changes this vacation has been. I love Hurricane season.:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc Now I just have to hope the cruise is not a washout.

Ticker change again.

WOOHOO :woohoo: I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Make sure you take travel insurance!!! We have learned with cruising it is a must, especially during hurricane season. I was very active on the Cruise Critic boards for a couple years and felt so badly for the people who lost money due to cancelled flights or the ship having to leave early to avoid a storm.

Melissa - have you stayed at POR before? We stayed there 3 years ago and loved the resort -and that was before the rehab. It's the only mod a family of 5 can fit in and we are trying to see some others. But I would have no hesitation going back to POR if it meant I could get a second trip in. Of course, like Candace, I am not doing what makes sense financially! We are going to try the EPCOT area. But I did loVe POR. The food court is good And I loved the boat to DD.

We have, we stayed at Riverside and FQ. And I think the Royal Rooms are cute and we have no issues with the resort. I am just in deluxe mode I guess and looking to throw money out the window  I know our Jan trip will be MK instensive since it will be the first time we go since the FLE opens. Although DH will argue that is why we are staying at WL in Feb for 4 nts. I am also excited to be trying the Epcot resort area and REALLY looking forward to our YC stay in a month :)

Off to figure out what the heck I want to do with my reservations :confused3

I think I know what you want to do! :cutie:

If you think about...and I have...a vacation is a splurge to begin with....no one needs them to survive. So the best decision financially would be not to take one. But since we are choosing to do it, we might as well do it :rotfl2:
I totally hear you! Like I tried to say earlier, perhaps not so well, the only thing that would make me give up deluxe is a guarantee for two trips. And maybe not even then....lol. And now I have other things on my wish list like club level and the deluxe dining plan (just not in the same trip!) and of course a stay at the Poly after the refurb!

wooohooooo! Yay for the upgrade! That's awesome!

Padawans - congrats on booking the cruise - sounds like a great discount!

This is our plan for next year, and it is a relief to hear that you enjoyed POR...that is most likely where we will be for the two 2013 trips. Only real affordable way right now...although you never know!:lmao:

Well that's the other reason it's a perfect time for me to do the Poly!!! Brand new rooms! (which I very much appreciate). The Hawaii building will get done Jan/Feb and be sparkly new when we arrive in April. And I really like the new design that I've seen. The bathrooms are awesome! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean, and I want to be the responsible adult and make the decision that makes the most sense financially. But then there is the part of me that knows that DH will go along with whatever I end up booking and for as many times as I book. CL is on my list too! We did DxDP in April of 2011 and it was great, but know that the prices have risen and 2013 is even higher it doesn't pay for us.

Oh maybe that will be our April stay too :) I am just worried that Jan there will still be too much construction.

We really do like POR and if I didnt just give up a $10,000 vacation that is probably where we would be for most of our stays to WDW.

Hi Basketlacey, I agree! This is a great recommendation! I also think POFQ is lovely too. They both have a very nice, relaxing resort feel, but are still very fun!:thumbsup2

Melissa, Happy planning as you sort through the options! :goodvibes

Hi Mousemommy, All sparkly and new sounds fabulous! :dance3:
(And may I add, your new generic ticker is a great idea. It just might be a helpful time saver for you...)

We arrived Saturday at BLT and we just love it, but we're still looking forward to moving over to WL tomorrow morning for breakfast in the lounge:yay:. DD doesn't want to ever leave though. It's easy to get used to two bathrooms, a whirlpool tub, W/D, the monorail and walkway and 1000 SF on vacation. But, DH is missing his cobbler and fresh pineapple and I'm looking forward to seeing all the wonderful CMs and that beautiful Lodge:goodvibes

I'm sorry I don't have time to go back and get caught up right now, this is the first time I've sat down in the room since arriving. But I did notice Step's GINORMOUS pixie dust surprise:goodvibes. I know that Janet can't do an update right now, but I hope to see her soon and get one in person:thumbsup2. BTW, is this the same room Nurse Perdue was forced into? :crutches:

WHATANUPGRADE!! I would have loved to see the look on you and your family's faces when you realized where you'd be staying (I had this look last August;)). Something tells me you won't be changing to the CR:worship:. It was meant to be that the CR wasn't available by the time you called:goodvibes

Ok so I have just put together the wackiest vacation ever. This is what happens when you start planning at 2 months out and make 1000 changes and then book a cruise at the last minute.

Don't laugh. Just kidding you can laugh.

Here it is
2 nights at Akl pool view with AP discount. Why? you ask.... well its the cheapest room at a deluxe resort.

3 nights Wl cl with my dh's airline discount.

4 night Disney Dream.:cool1: You all heard the story on that one.

1 night at BW Cl with ap discount. I just couldn't give up trying this Cl.

4 nights at BC GV Cl with airline discount.

Total price 4800.:cheer2: Not bad for a 2 week vacation that includes a cruise and club level. I know a lot of moving around, but this is what I could get with my discounts. It will be a great vacation before my dh get transferred to Los Angeles.:headache:

MM I like your optimism regarding the Poly. I hope it sticks, but I understand if it doesn't. :goodvibes

Babyberger I like all your picks. If we have to leave Phoenix in a year or so Miami is an option. I would love to do long weekends at WDW or Universal... Aw the Florida resident Ap discounts.:lovestruc I haven't bought travel insurance yet, but we fly for free, and I can leave at anytime if we have to. Flights are empty in September so flying standby is not an issue. I may check into buying it. Disney charges too much so I just left it off. There are other companies that offer it. I'll check it out.

I just sent you a PM regarding the travel insurance company we use. Your trip sounds UNBELIEVABLE!!! And the price tag is even better!!!!!

The construction will be in the long houses, so nothing visual to you. WL was still under construction while we were there last month and it was rare to see of hear anything. Just sayin. :goodvibes

That is a great trip for a great deal!!! You're so lucky you don't have to pay for airfare, that's always a killer! :faint:

UGH...completely stressed right now. DD3 woke up crying saying she can't walk on her right leg. She won't even try, and when I try to bend it she cries out in pain. She seemed fine last night, we were at DD8 soccer game, and she was running around and at the playground. She said she tripped on a step at the playset, but at the time she didn't cry or come running to me at all. Going to the DR. soon to see what is going on. I am imagining everything right now....broken leg, sprained knee, wheelchair at Disney....:sad1:

I will check in later.

Ok, I am going to tell you to take a deep breath....::yes::

My DD5 has had a couple of episodes that sound exactly like this...the first one when she was about 3...she would limp and fall to the ground, I was horrified!!!! When I took her to the MD, it turned out to be "growing pains", and after she got some ibuprofen and rested, she was good as new the next day!!!

The second time it happened, I knew what it was...so I did the ibuprofen and rest thing for a day, and she was good to go!!!

She'll be fine!! :thumbsup2

Jenny is her pain in the hip at all? My middle son got Toxic Synovitis (viral infection that affects the hip/leg) a few years ago and it freaked me out! He went from being totally unable to walk to fine in 2 days. Hopefully that is all your DD has!

Also, met Janet B last night briefly. What a sweetheart!

Heading to Epcot this AM then flying home. Boo! Poly was great but we won't be doing CL again. The crazies checked in over the weekend and sent me over the egde :(

Was there a piggie family that we often hear so much about over there??? :confused3

Jenny, the same thing happened to my son on his first day of first grade. It was so sad to walk him over to school with a limp. When it was time to go in, Sr. Irene took him by the hand to walk with him into the classroom - they were both limping on opposite legs!

We saw his pediatrician that afternoon, who sent us directly over to the pediatric RA specialist - he was great...said to give him ibuprofen (it was by prescription back then) and he was fine within a couple of days.

Fingers crossed it will be a simple solution for your little one too! Keep us posted...praying and sending lots of positive thoughts! :grouphug:
