Sheraton Vistana Villages

We booked a week at Sheraton Vistana Villages and can't wait. I am curious though if anyone can tell me about renovations. Have all buildings been renovated? Also, it looks like with two kids that I would prefer to be near either the pirate pool or the walk in pool. Would anyone be able to tell me which buildings are closest to these two pools. In fact, a recent resort map would be awesome. I can't seem to find one.

We stayed here. It was nice. Would DEFinitely reserve again. Not sure about the renovations, but I did request a renovated room for our stay. It was VERY nice. Call and ask where the map is on line and also make requests. They noted it in our call and we got request.

I get the two Sheraton Vistana resorts mixed up. We stayed at the on on International Drive. It was very nice, but I don't remember a pirate pool.

The ship is at the pool complex at the newest section of Vistana Villages - the St. Augustine section. This section was built during 2010-2011 and I think it's all in its original state (meaning no refurbishment work yet). The rooms in St. Augustine are a little smaller than similar rooms in the older sections of the resort.
The resort's main pool is located behind the reservation center and the restaurant. The eleven buildings in the Bella Florida Village surround the lake and that main pool. Buildings 1, 2, 3 and 7 are the closest to the pool area but it's not far from any of those Bella Florida buildings. I believe that Bella Florida was the original section of the resort and I think the section has been refurbished once since they opened Vistana Villages. I just don't know how recently that refurb took place.
The Key West Village, at the back of the resort, was built after the Amelia and Bella Florida sections but before they built St. Augustine Village. We stayed in Key West (the largest villas at the resort) in December 2010 and again in December 2011. Our villa in Building 13 had just been refurbished when we got there at the beginning of December '11 (I think that we were the first guests in that villa after the completion of the refurb). They were working through Key West Buildings 15, 16 and 17 during our week. Key West includes six buildings and has a moderately sized pool area, fitness room, and arcade and there are tennis and basketball courts at the front of Key West. The resort store is also quite close to the entrance to the Key West section.

Because this resort is fairly compact it's a short walk from any of the buildings in any of the four "villages" to pool areas and resort amenities in the other "villages." You can find some more information about this resort at the Starwood Vacation Ownership web site.

It's a nice resort, I bet you'll enjoy your stay there.
