Friends have asked us for info on this resort, so any feedback welcome.

I've tried looking for rates on at least 6 sites (such as Hotel Discounts, Expedia, etc) and they all returning unavailability for next May. Does that seem possible?

Did you try with the Sheraton's web site? Or what about calling the 800 number directly and asking about availability. It's possible that the websites you mentioned just haven't released availibility for next May yet.

Good luck.

Brenda

I agree with Brenda's post.

We are timeshare owners at Vistana and I recommend it. Great pools, good restaurants, activities for the kids, and very convenient location.:)

If you book directly through Sheraton, you are going to pay "rack rate". Have you tried Hotelkingdom.com? They usually have the best price. I find it very hard to believe that they are all sold out. This resort is HUGE!!! I'm sure they just haven't released the rooms yet. My advice would be to wait another month and check again.

By the way, we LOVE this resort and have stayed there many times. If you have any specific questions, ask away!! :)

May is a relatively quieter time period for Orlando. So keep trying. The new rate deals will come. :)

We are staying at the vistana resort in sept. 02. We inquired about the availability to renting a villa, we were told that renting a villa is not an option until 30 days before checkin date. the villas are a timeshare and only rent the ones that will go unused. We don't have experience with vistana villages. My mother used an rci deposit to get into the resort for us. She stayed there before and absolutely loves this resort! Hope to shed some light on the subject.

Thanks for all your replies. Our friends are travelling with family who have already booked the Vistana Resort as part of a package deal with Virgin Holidays in the UK. Our friends want to stay at the same resort, but don't want to pay Virgin prices!

If you can only book 30 days out, then I guess that's why none of the websites are showing availability. I'll pass on the information. Thanks again.

Debbie, I booked mine this past June through HotelKingdom.com.
I booked in January for June. Just keep trying the website, that's what I am doing. We want to go back next June, so I am going to keep checking each week until they load for next summer.
The 30 days may refer just to certain buildings that have time share owners already? Not sure, but I know I booked earlier.

Lynn

I am a timeshare owner at Vistana Resort and you can certainly book plenty of time before 30 days out. I have stayed there many many times as an owner and also as a "regular guest" (booked through Hotelkingdom.com when I want additional nights at the resort). I have no idea what twinsmom&dad is referring to when she mentions "villa". ALL the units at Vistana are either 1 bedroom & 2 bedroom units. They may also be a few studios as well. But there are no "villas" - unless she was simply referring to a standard 2-bedroom unit, which can be booked months in advance (as soon as these discount websites load the dates into their systems). There is NO difference between timeshare units and regular rental units. If you want to request a certain building, then I believe you need to do that no more than 30 days out (via Sheraton's website). Maybe that is what twinsmom&dad was referring to????

My advice is to keep watching hotelkingdom's website for the dates to be released.

Sorry threeboysmom, but I can only relay what we were told when we called the resort. maybe we received bad info.??? Hotelkingdom list the week we are going as sold out. I hoppe to get more info this week and will post it here if i think it will help. just posted it as a villa as that is what it is called in the ressie paperwork. hotelkingdom also calls them "villas". Sorry if i gave bad info. :(

I have found that lots of condo type places refer to their units as villas. When we stayed at Vistana in '99, the RCI site referred to them as villas too. However, we definitely made our reservations more than 30 days in advance.

On a side note, what is the best price you have seen on hotelkingdom,.com for Vistana? We are staying at the villages in Dec and the best price I am getting for them is $189/night. We are adding three nights on to a timeshare exchange and no way am I paying $189! I've seen the resort for $118 and that seems pretty good. Any better rates out there?

They are booking now for the Resort at hotelkingdom.com for $128 a night for the two bedroom and $108 for the one bedroom.

THe VIllages are $156 for the two bedrooma nd $98 for the one bedroom.
