If you check in on a Sunday, for a 2 bedroom occ 8/ priv 6, which section would you end up with??? I have stayed here twice, the first time we stayed at the fountains, (I think) and last summer in the Lakes, which was very nice. Any tricks into getting into the cascades??? Any info on this topic would be of great help.
Thanks for the knowledge...

It depends on if you are an owner at Vistana or not. If you are an owner, they place you in the section of the resort that you own in. If you exchanged in or are renting, they place you in a section that is available. You could be in any section. You can request a section, but it is not guaranteed. There are about 7 sections of the resort. Courts being the oldest and Cascades being the newest.

I am looking at a Vistana Sun check-in and the occupancy is 6/6. Any hint as to which section that is?

I stayed in the Lakes last summer, it was pretty nice. I'm going RCI exchange. I believe there was a map out there or on their website stating which sections for what check in day?

The Courts and Spas are probably the only sections you will not be placed in. All other sections are up for grabs for a Sunday check-in. If you're not an owner, all you can do is fill out the Diamond Lane form and hope for the best.

To ahmo.....a 6/6 tends to be the older Falls section. They only have 2 twin beds in the second bedroom vs 2 double beds. Hope this helps. But if you fill out the DL form, you might have a shot at another section if it's available.

Good luck !

The 2 bedroom 6/6 units with a Sunday check in are in the Falls section. That was the first section built at Vistana and are over two decades old but have be refurbished in the last few years.

Thanks for all the great replies...Does it matter if you check in early or late to what section you are placed???

Every section of Vistana has buildings designated for Friday, Sat. and Sunday check-in, whether it is the Cascades, Fountains, Springs, etc.

Not so dipdotdarlin.
The Courts only have Sat check-in. The Falls only have Sunday check-in and the Spas only have Friday check-in.

Yes, the remainder, have check-in available on all three days. With Palms, Springs, Fountains I/II, Lakes and Cascades you can check-in to those Fri, Sat or Sun.

Yes Vinny....it "can" make a difference. We've checked in as early as noon and when we heard the villa they were going to place us in, we asked if there were any others. We were then given a choice of 3 different villas. If you check-in later in the day, you may not have this opportunity due to villas already having been assigned. Nothing is guaranteed, but I feel by checking in earlier, you have a better chance. Make sure you ask what else is open. Good luck !

Mia we have had the same thing happen. In our case they had us "assigned" to a first floor villa that was not clean yet. I asked about any other possibilities in the same area (Fountains) and we were given a choice of two other villas. I was there right at 4:00 that time in the Diamond Lane. Another stay we had just decided to extend our visit by a couple of nights and checked availability at Vistana. We were given a choice of waiting for Cascades a couple of hours or checking into one of the older sections right away. We chose to wait. This was at about noon.

A bit OT but some of you experts might know off the top of your heads. I know someone renting 1 bedroom unit for just 2 nights, where might they be assigned? I had a feeling the one bedrooms were only in the better sections but I could be wrong. Thanks.

Glad it worked out for you Julie !

And yes, ReallyFunMom. The one bedrooms are only in the Lakes and Cascades (which are the two newest sections). Hope they have a nice stay :)
