Sheraton Vistana NOT villages

My friend is making reservations for her family of 7 (2 adults, 5 kids) for the Sheraton Vistana at the end of this month. They're renting a 2-bedroom villa. This is NOT the Villages resort, which I have heard such great things about, but the other one.

My question is, how is this resort? This is their first trip to Disney World and I'd love to help them have a good experience.

I own at Sheraton Vistana Resort (not Villages), and I love it!! I own the 2 bedroom/2 bath condo --- it's great - there's tons of room to stretch out.

The property is fabulous - 7 pools, a miniture golf area, different restaurants, gym/massage facilities, shuttle to the parks, on site store (clothes, souveniers, food---you can even order stuff before you get to Vistana and they will have it waiting in your kitchen for you).

I love it, and highly recommend staying here.

What section is your condo or do you stay in different sections each time you? We are debating whether or not we should stay there for Halloween. Do you know if that resort gets crowded around that time?

I also own at Vistana, It is a very nice place to stay and is about 1 mile to Disney, maybe less. You will need a car to get around. You can call Enterprise, they will come to Vistana and pick yo up and will drop you back to Vistana when you turn the car in. Or you can use Vistana's shuttle service to the parks, but this is about $7 per person ( can't remeber if this is R.T.). 24 to 72 hours before check in CALL Vistana and request to stay in either the Lakes, Cascades as these are the newer buildings. The Vistana is a great place to stay! We've been there a few times and have never had a bad trip. And we've stayed both in the oldest section and in the newest section. We love the Vistana, and if we didn't now own DVC, we'd continue to go back. We don't own there, we go through RCI exchanges. The property is gorgeous. It's really convinient to get to WDW and all the other Orlando parks as well. The pools are great. If there's a problem; maintenance is very quick to fix it. I don't think I have anything bad to say about the place (and that's rare for me.).

I'm on the "I Love Vistana" wagon too! We've owned for 6 years and love it every year, thus far, no matter which section of the resort we stay in. This year we're bringing friends in July. I can't wait!

Vistana.....(in a very wistful voice) Everytime we stay there I try and convince my husband that we should just live there all the time. He just doesn't seem to think it's in the budget though.

I have to say we have also stayed at the Villages and it does not hold a candle to Vistana Resort. After our experience, I would never stay at the Villages again (ever!) but we have stayed at Vistana 4 or 5 times and love it even more every time we are there.
