Has anyone ever stayed here before? I would like all the information you could possibly give. I am looking for a 1-2 night stay before we head over the RPR, and I found a great rate for this one.

Any information or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I don't as yet I'm afraid, but we shall be staying there for 10 nights in August - I will have a thorough review then but that might be a bit too late?

I was looking to check in on August 22nd. I would love some input. The hotel looks beautiful online doesn't it?

We will be checking in on the 6th and checking out on the 16th - as soon as I find internet connection in Orlando I will try and get online :)

I'm staying there for a night in August (August 10th). I'll post a review when I return.

We stayed there about two years ago as we were checking into RPR at Universal, but before that we were doing Seaworld, Wet and Wild, etc. We paid $89 a night and we loved it. The hotel is very nice. We were upgraded to concierge level (don't know why, we didn't ask for it) but it was great. The hotel is themed to the "movies and there are picture of stars like Marilyn Monroe and the like. The room was clean, nicely decorated and we were treated nicely. We would definitely stay there again.

What kind of rate did you get? We have seen it for $119 and up so we were happy with our rate.

Glad to hear that you really liked the hotel. But, could you tell me how far it is from Universal? Are there any good place to eat in the area? It doesn't matter we aren't picky eaters and we could go for a sit down restaurant or even a fast food one for that matter.

Our flight doesn't arrive until 7:00pm, so by the time we collect our luggage and over priced rental car, pack it up with the family and head over to the hotel to check in, it will be about 8:30. I may have over estimated the time frame but we know for sure we will not be able to make it over to any parks.

After searching for a while I was able to find a rate of $72 after taxes, for Sheraton Studio City. We still haven't booked as of yet because I have been waiting on advice from the Disboards.
But, I also found great rates for many other hotels, one of them being Hyatt Place/Universal. So at this point I am still undecided.

I hope to book the hotel by no later than Sunday. Because I like to be all set for everything in advance.

Any other hotel suggestions would be greatly appreciated, just in case anyone else has found a great rate or hotel somewhere in Orlando.

Thanks

It's in a great location. It's literally about 1.5 miles from Universal, but not walking distance. I'm sure you could walk it if you want to as Universal Boulevard is right of Intl Drive, but it's very busy and dangerous in my opinion. You can see the parks from the hotel if you stay on a high floor and ask for a Universal view. Across the street there is a red lobster, next door there is a Denny's and there are bunches of other eateries all over I Drive. The rate you have is awesome and I would book it. Where did you find that rate? I just might have to book a quick weekend if I can get that.

Hope that helps.

We're going to have a rental so getting to places will not be a problem. I found the rate through the Entertainment Book. All that you have to do is call the hotel directly and ask for the Entertainment rate and they give it to you. The only catch is you need to have the entertainment card when you check in.

I think I am now convienced on booking the hotel it's just should I stay 1 night or should we stay 2? That is the question.
