We have never stayed there before, but are considering the Sheraton Safari for a quick trip in July. My 2 biggest questions are:

1 - How nice are the rooms?

2 - About busses?? Their site says they have transpo to WDW theme parks. I assume this is by bus, but is this grouped with any other nearby hotels (like the DTD group), or just for that hotel?? If so, how often do these busses run?? How crowded were they??

Thanks in advance for any help.

We stayed there back in 2001 in a two room suite. It was very nice and very clean. We had no trouble with the buses, but it was the first week of December and the parks were pretty low on crowds. I do think the bus system requires more waiting than the Disney transportation system. We found a great deal on the internet for $29.oo per night!!! It was a steal!

I just returned from another stay at the SS and it was great as usual. Rooms are clean and love the beds!

Can't comment on the busses as I've never used them.

this site is a great wealth of Sheraton Safari knowledge & it not a site affiliated with the Sheraton Safari, just a private individual that likes this hotel & set this site up:
http://www.wvnh.net/sheraton/sheratonsafari.htm

scroll all the way almost to the bottom & there is a bus schedule but it is from August of 2005 however it should give you an idea of what the schedule may be like now or it may be the same if they have not changed it.

If you are not already a Starwood Rewards member, sign up on line, from my experience they have "special" rooms for members that may be alittle nicer than others and usually have a pool view rather than a parking lot view. You will also get 2 free 16oz bottles of water in your room each day if you are a member. The bigger ones that are in the room will be charged if you use those though.

Also from my experience, some of the rooms have the old fashioned airconditioning unit that runs constantly & some rooms have the kind with a digital regulator on the wall where it comes on & goes off with temperature fluctuations just like a home whole house air unit does.

One thing I found cool about the bathroom is the shower has an arched shower curtain rod that sort of expands the area in the shower, no worries about the shower curtain touching you while showering.

thank you all for the information. Cinamin27, I will check out that site now.
