Just wanted to comment on our hotel stay, after reading all the reviews this was not our first choice in hotels, but now it will ALWAYS be our ONLY choice. We originally had another hotel booked for our 4 night Disneyland vacation stay, but got an awesome deal through Costco and decided to give the Sheraton Park a shot. Being 'right across the street' from Disney was not a huge deciding factor for us since we drove from Northern California and would have our own transportation. But the hotel is totally within walking distance to the park.

We stayed June 4th-8th 2008. WE drove from Sacramento in 7 1/2 hours with 5 kids and 3 adults. We got to the hotel, and was immediately greeted by Jeff the hotel manager who was such a nice gentleman. He took all of our paperwork and said he would be right back. He came back within 5 minutes and asked me how many keys we would need. Told me he gave us connecting rooms with full balcony's that over looked Disney and Disney Ca adventure, told me what night the fireworks would be and where the pool and Jacuzzi was. He then called over the bell hop and asked him to go with me to gather all of our luggage.

As you can guess with so many of us we had a TON of luggage and he didn't even bat an eye. He even gladly loaded up the 2 cases of water and soda that we had with some boxes of snacks i.e....granola bars, beef jerky, cheese its..etc... He then told us he would met us in our room. By the time we parked and took the elevator up to the 8th floor he had un-packed all our luggage and was putting the water in the mini fridge.

The rooms were great, nicely decorated in earth tones, 2 queen beds in each room, large TV, safe, fridge, desk, dresser and large bathroom area. The balcony was very spacious, with a small drink table and 2 patio chairs.

Since we arrived so late we had decided to wait until the following morning to head to the park. That evening we asked Jim [?] the guest relations assistant where a nice family friendly restaurant would be, he reminded us that Mimi's was right down the way some and they had nice food with equally nice prices. We totally love Mimi's and headed right over. We originally got a very young waitress who OBVIOUSLY did not have children and didn't really understand that they NEEDED to eat...even some bread or crackers... So we politely asked for another waitress and she was sooooo AWESOME and dang it I wish I could remember her name but she rocked!!!.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel and decided to go for a swim, the hotels pool was much nicer then we expected. It was a very large for the area and the hot tub was right besides so you could keep an eye on the kids while you soaked your troubles away. The pool area had a bar which was always staffed and had a HUGE stack of towels always waiting for you. We used the pool every single day of our stay and it was NEVER crowded.

Our room was cleaned every single day, and fresh [free] bottles of water were always replenished. The hotel was extremely clean as were all the grounds. I was told the hotel was close to booking capacity but we rarely ever saw or heard any other children, except during the fireworks and you would hear the various oohhhh and aaawwws. The view was sooo cool, we could literally see the laser light show, all the fireworks and even tinker bell flying around.

The only negative would be the hotels cafe... We ate breakfast their one morning and it was down right awful. The service was very slow, the food was barely passable, and it was VERY pricey. We only ate their one time and it will be the only time. We did have pizza from Round table delivered one evening, and thank you again to Jim he gave us coupons to use.

I know we will use this hotel MANY times in the future. We will also use Costco for all of our future travel, they were so personable and professional. And the savings was huge for our family. In all honesty the reason why we switched was becuase we had booked two rooms at Embassy suites North and when I got the costco deal they were actually cheaper for the 4 nights at the Shearaton, 8 three day park hopper tickets, 8 character breakfast's, free parking, free lanyards and pin for everyone and 2 $20 Disney gift cards for LESS then JUST the Embassy rooms only.

fantastic review - thank you so much.

I visited the property when it was Coast & thought the pool was very nice at that time. It's good to see that they have such good service there and that the hotel is so nice.

Your review has got me even more excited (if that's possible ;)) for our upcoming trip! From what I remember when we looked around briefly back in 2006 and pictures I've seen of the hotel, it looks lovely! I cannot wait to check-in and start exploring! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing your views. Hope your trip was just as good! :thumbsup2

It's nice to hear a good review! We'll be staying there in two weeks. How long did that walk to the park take?

I actually never did the walk my self, but our two girls and my 11 year olds bff and my DBrotherInLaw did the walk a few evenings..and they said it took them approx 15 minutes. But with our package we had free shuttle service and it picked you up at the hotel and within 5 minutes we were at the front of the park. In fact you got much closer with the shuttle then when we took our own car and parked in the garage. Enjoy your stay and remember to ask for a full balcony room, on a high floor that over looks the parks. :goodvibes

have any pictures of the hotel that you might be able to post, I am staying there before my Disney Cruise in July:cool1:

Actually we lost our memory card :faint: and so far all the photos that our kids and everyone took did not include any from the hotel. :worried: As my last post said, remember to ask/book a room on the upper floors, full balcony room and a view over looking the park. :woohoo: BTW after our four days at Disney we also did the DCL June 8th-15th. Had such a good time we re-booked on board for Sept 26th 2009 :yay: Enjoy your Land/Sea vacation. :cutie:

that's to bad you lost the memory card. And I will enjoy my land and sea vacation, I'll post a trip report about it on the DCL section so if you want to read it keep a eye out for one after July 20th

What a great review! We will be staying there September 7th - 21 so we will just miss you. I have asked for a high floor with a Disney view, but will email them a few days before we go to request it again. Thanks for sharing. :)

DH stayed there for a conference last September and really liked it. I'm glad the walk wasn't bad since we are staying a few steps closer at the Portofino. Sounds like a great trip.

Ohhh, cool, I'm trying to picture exactly where this hotel is but failing, it's past the CCI on the right while you're driving towards Target or Joe's Crab Shack right? I'm always on the watch for a great place to stay in Anaheim. I'm glad you had such a great stay!!
