I know the timeshare presentation at the main Vistana is high pressure. It gets so bad, we have to disconnect our phones in the room so as not to be bothered. Last year, they were "on" to us and actually stopped by our villa personally to get us to go. They left us a note because we weren't there which said something like : "after all the hard work I went through to get you checked into your villa, I'd hope you would return my calls and stop by for the owner's breakfast". Dh and I were like , "whaaat ???". We felt insulted by the note and let them know it.
We refuse the "owner's breakfasts" (which are timeshare sales pitches) because the last presentation we went to, turned into 2.5+ hours (it was supposed to be 90 min).....because the salesperson would not take "no" for an answer. He purposefully kept us waiting for our money ($75 and not worth it AT ALL after losing the time and going through the stress we did). Not sure if the Villages is any better....but if they are the same salespeople, I'd say it won't be.
Every year since we became owners at Vistana, they have pushed us to do the timeshare pitches----it has become more aggressive the last 3-4 years. We preferred the older days of Vistana----before Starwood/Sheraton took over. We used to actually feel like a valued owner back in the day. Now....we just feel like a number. We are currently discussing selling back our week to Starwood/Sheraton. We're going to use it this year, but hope to sell it for next year.
Good luck with your ts presentation. The Villages are lovely from what I've heard/seen.
