Day 5 (again)!!!!

We have booked a wake up call everyday so far and Lucy has only answered the first 2. After that it’s been left up to me to answer, I am now certain that it’s Stitch and Mickey who scream down the phone to you. I start to get the bags ready for the day at Typhoon lagoon and try to get Martyn and Lucy out of bed. This proves a task in its self. Neither of them wants to get up. Eventually they open their eyes and I’m dressed and ready to go. They get creamed up and costumes on and it’s down to breakfast. We meet Rob and Sheila, Lucy finishes her Muffin and we’re off. The bus is packed, looks like its going to be a busy day. Lucy is very excited as she loves the water.

This time we get in the park no problems and we go and find some loungers. We choose some right in front of the big wave and Tilly. There’s not a lot of shade in the park but we should be in the water all day. Before we do anything we need to get some flips flops for Martyn and I and a large locker. Sheila, Rob, Lucy and I go up to the shop to buy some footwear and get the lockers. It’s very hot so I grab some drinks on the way back.

We waste no time in getting in the water. The wave pool is full and everyone is bobbing around waiting for the big one. It seems to take forever for the wave, when it finally does everyone screams and starts swimming. It’s great; Sheila gets right up the front and rides the wave. Lucy loves it too.

Martyn and I go off and explore the park while Sheila and Rob take care of Lucy. We check out cast away creek first and do the full circuit. This is great you just lie back and float around without a care in world…. Then you get squirted with ice cold water. Next we do a couple of the slides; I feel like a big kid. Today is the hottest day we have had so far. Its great being by the pool but an ice cream is called for and we share a mint/choc Dipping dots. These are tiny little balls of ice cream and are delicious.

Rob and Sheila return Lucy just in time to finish off the ice cream. She is having a great time and it doesn’t take her long to get me back on the Lazy River (as we keep calling it). We saw the sign for the family raft and go and join the queue, we don’t have our shoes on and the floor is burning our feet it’s so hot. It seems to take forever to get to the raft, Martyn drags it up the few stairs to the top and we all jump in. There was a lady stood on the side taking pictures and handing out wrist straps as fast as she could. This ride was fun and we all loved it, but it could do with being a little longer.

Everyone is getting hungry now so we all go for some lunch and we get a nice table in the raised seating area. Now Lucy is scared of flies so imagine her face when there were huge birds walking round our feet, she was a little shocked to say the least.

We spend the afternoon in the wave pool and sunbathing and by 3 Martyn and I had, had enough. Rob, Sheila and Lucy want to stay so we decide a time to meet up to go out for the evening meal and Martyn and I get the bus back to the resort. A quick shower and change of clothes and I’m dragging Martyn out again down to DTD Marketplace. WOW, this place is fantastic. I love Disney and Shopping so this is paradise. We don’t have a lot of time before we have to get back to meet the others so it’s just a quick look in all the shops for now. We hadn’t decided where we were going to go for the evening meal, so we walked over to the Rainforest café to see of we could book a table; they said we couldn’t book but we could add our name to the list and return for 8 to get a table. This works out great as we can pick up Rob, Sheila and Lucy and drive back for 7:30.

The Rainforest Café is a little pricier than some restaurants but when you get inside its great. We were sat near the gorillas, and had a great view of the fish too. I think this was probably one of the best meals we had in the 3 weeks. Rob and I had the Pastalaya, Sheila had the Mogambo Shrimp, Martyn had Pasta planet and Lucy had the Chicken Dinasoars. Everyone really loved the meals and the portions are huge. We could not fault the RFC at all. You even get thunder and lightning through out your meal. We finish our drinks and make our way out into the warm evening.

It’s getting dark now as its gone 9. Were all drawn to the Christmas shop and fall in love with everything. Sheila and Rob buy some things for their tree. I really wanted a tree skirt but they were expensive and the one i have is still new. I will be bringing one back with me next year so Martyn you better get saving. We do get a lovely photo frame, it’s got the castle on and Tink is holding back the curtains and a small Christmas plate for the tree. We join the queue to have the frame personalised, there’s just enough room for ‘The Flynn’s 2005’ and we get pixie dust sprinkled on too. You get the option to have the item sent to your room or pick it up in two days. As were leaving on Friday to go to the villa we choose to pick it up on Thursday evening. Oh well we will have to go back to DTD…. I’m gutted While were waiting, Rob and Sheila push Lucy down to The World of Disney. She wants to buy an Aeriel Music box and the Ballerina Minnie. When they get there she is fast asleep. She must have been very tired as she didn’t wake when we moved her from the pram to the car or from the car to the room.

We get back and Sheila and I go down and get some cold drinks and then it’s off to bed. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow. MGM and we have the fantasmic dinner package booked for Mama Melrose. Martyn and I watch I little of the taping we have done of the holiday and it’s off to sleep.

Day 6 coming soon

Lovely report Michelle, I like the sound of the RFC, might give that a try this year.

Great report! We ate at RFC in AK and that was a great meal too! :goodvibes

Lovely report.

The family raft ride at Blizzard Beach is a lot longer (just in case you didn't get to BB on this holiday and found that out for yourself :) ) You have to hang on though, my DS who was 9 at the time nearly got flung out, great fun though.

It sounds like you had a lovely day.

I agree DTD is just fantastic - i love the relaxed atmosphere - I will definately be spending some time there when we return :flower:

I was just about to say the family raft ride is much better at Blizzard Beach:)
In all the times we have been to WDW we have never eaten at RFC...we might give it a try in Dec.
Lovely report again.

Another lovely report! Thank you for doing it again!

I love TL. It is so relaxing.

I also love DTD. I agree it's a Disney & shopping fan's heaven :teeth:

DTD!! Shopping heaven!!!

I just love sitting in one of those rings at TL, going round and round. Pure bliss!!! :)

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Once again, this time at Typhoon Lagoon, Sheila and Rob outlast the youngsters. Another point for our side. Yeah, Rob and Sheila.

So nice to hear a good report of RFC for a change. Have to say when we went in January the food was fine, but the service really wasn't up to scratch.
It's great when you take other adults with you to help with childcare. Made all the difference for us that we could chill out when needed.

Can't wait to read the next bit,
Claire

Shellbell where is your next trip report?! We are all eagerly awaiting it!!! :)
