Shell Beach

has anyone been to shell beach?, or can they recommend a nice beach area approx 2hours drive from WDW

The beaches on the Gulf coast are gorgeous - you should try them. They are only around a 2 hour drive away. Clearwater, St. Petes etc.

We love going there.

Yeah, the beaches there are wonderful just don't forget to do the "Stingray Shuffle"

Don't panic!!

When we went it was in early April so maybe that's just the time of year for them. It wasn't a problem though, just sensible advice, there were notices up with warnings though.

The beaches on the west coast have always been nicer, pure white sand - further to drive from Central Florida but worth it in my opinion.

We have just spent 4 days at St Pete Beach. It was so lovely there, I just wish we could have stayed longer.
